When I Knew He Was The One

Today, one of my coworkers asked me, "When did you know that Sean was the one?"

Most people say that they don't really know. There wasn't an exact moment just a bunch of little things that sealed it for them. As for me, it was one exact moment that made me realize that this was it, he was the one for me. It was fun to share with her so I figured, why not share this on my blog too?

I like chocolate ice cream a lot. More than my figure wants me to. I can't help it. It's my {only} weakness.

The only good thing about this is that I am very picky when it comes to ice cream. I will only eat vanilla ice cream with Oreo cookies in them. I don't really bother to venture out in ice cream flavors. I am probably missing out, but then, I might not be.

A few years ago, I was in the supermarket and found myself in the ice cream aisle. I came across a Ben & Jerry ice cream called "Marsha Marsha Marshmallow". I picked it up, read the ingredients and bought it.

When I got home I tasted it and I was in love. It was the best ice cream I had ever tasted and I am proud to say that I ate it all in one sitting. Yes, proud.

After that first taste, I proceeded to buy that ice cream ALL.THE.TIME. No other flavor would do.

Imagine the hurt I felt when I went to the supermarket one day and my love was no where to be found. I figured that other people had found out about the goodness of that flavor. I couldn't blame them but I now knew that I had to buy more than one carton at a time.

I returned a few days later and my ice cream was still not there. I went to several other supermarkets and nothing. I realized with huge regret that it must have been discontinued. I was heartbroken. Who did Ben & Jerry think they were to get between me and Marsha Marsha Marshmallow?

I had been dating the hubs for about 6 months at this time and he knew how much I loved this ice cream. Every time he would go shopping he would try to find it but no luck. Once in a while he will buy ice cream in hopes I will get over Marsha Marsha Marshmallow but it didn't happen. I refused to even eat chocolate ice cream. See? I was really heartbroken.

One day, I went over to Sean's apartment and we were watching movies. Sean asked me to go into the freezer to get ice cubes. Inside the freezer was a Ben and Jerry's ice cream called Smores. I didn't even bring out the ice cubes (Sean knew I wouldn't once I saw that ice cream carton). I love Smores! Love, love, love Smores so Sean had quite possibly found an ice cream that would replace my old love.

Since I love Smores so much I decided to try it. And OMG! It tasted just like Marsha Marsha Marshmallow. EXACTLY!

After I finished it (I gave a few bites to Sean) he explained to me that he had contacted Ben & Jerry's and they advised him that they had not discontinued my love but just decided to give it a new name called Smores!

I was so surprised when I realized that he had gone out of his way to find my favorite ice cream for me. I hadn't even thought to contact Ben & Jerry's and he had.

That day, I fell in love with him. That day, I knew he was The One. He found my ice cream and I found my true love.

I love that you can pinpoint the time and place your love for S started. And it's just that much sweeter that it had to do with icecream. xoxo
