Hurricane Irene Cancelled The Wedding

My friend is devastated. I was devastated for her. But she understands. Better safe than sorry.

The wedding has been rescheduled for next weekend.

We had the rehearsal dinner last night though. So I'll have pictures of that fun time.

NYC is so quiet right now, so unreal. Transportation shut down since noon today.

Mandatory evacuations in NYC, never thought I would live to see the day that a Hurricane would come to NYC.

We are home now.

Away from Irene, we hope.

Already 4 deaths reported. So very scary.

I've been trying to get a hold of my parents who live in the Bronx but I haven't gotten them yet. They say that the Bronx will be fine but I can't help but worry.

I hope everyone who may come in contact with Hurricane Irene is taking this seriously.

I don't know what else to say but God please keep us all safe.

    awwww....so sorry for your friends wedding. i hope next weekend it works perfectly for her. hope you guys stay stay up there! its been really windy down here in greensboro, north carolina, but no rain all day.

    I was actually thinking about your friend when you said you were attending a wedding! Glad that they postponed..safety first! glad you are ok! and im sure your parents are too!

    so sorry for your friend :( we just had a tornado warning and we're sleeping in the hallway to avoid windows. it's pretty scary.

    Oh no! Well, hopefully next weekend is perfect for here and everyone who was supposed to come is still able to do so. Glad this Hurricane is over---to think I moved out of Miami and hurricanes still follow me. yeesh.

    I'm so sorry for your friend. I really feel bad for anyone who planned to have a wedding this weekend. I also worried about any women in labor!

    That's so sad... but definitely better safe than sorry! Hope the rescheduling doesn't cause huge inconvinences to close family and friends who are attending.

    So sorry to hear about the wedding Faith! Hopefully this upcoming weekend will be much better! Irene was no joke but thankfully we faired pretty well here in my part of Maryland. Lots of rain and wind though. Not too much damage. Power outages in some areas but my household was blessed enough to be spared.
