8 days. 8 days till I move. When I knew I had 2 months to move it made things easier to accept. But now, now that it’s so close it’s becoming more and more bittersweet. But I’m ready for this new, what can I call it? Adventure. And yeah, I’m lame but I miss Sean when he’s gone. I just want to be in the same state with him so I’m ready. I haven’t packed yet but I’m a last minute kinda person anyway.
Over the weekend, Sean and I went to his hometown’s fair. And now I’m jaded. Remember how I said that I would get made fun of because I enjoyed his small town fair so much? Well, now that I experienced a bit of a bigger fair I was comparing over the weekend. You never know what you’re missing until you know. I had fun but it wasn’t the same. I did get my funnel cake and the biggest bag of cotton candy I’ve ever had so that almost made up for it. Almost.
After the fair we went to see The Butler. Such a great movie! I highly recommend.
On Saturday, Sean and I had plans to spend the whole day and evening in Saratoga Spring at the race tracks. At the last minute we decided we wanted a low key day. We decided to go to the Barge for lunch and spend some time together there. It was just what we needed. There was hardly anyone there so the bartender was highly attentive which is always nice. It was a cloudy but warm day and shortly after we left it down poured. I had an amazing pesto shrimp caprese salad.
When we got home in the evening we watched some movies on Netflix and I dreaded that the next day Sean would leave bright and early. He was on the road at 3 in the morning on Sunday.
The rest of the weekend, I spent applying to several jobs (I got a call for an interview yesterday!), cleaning, catching up on a few shows on Netflix and relaxing with the fur babies. It was a nice, long weekend but I’m reminded that this weekend is my last weekend living in New York. And I’m controlling the urge to cry.

ReplyDeleteIf that one picture was what you call a funnel cake, you will be surprised when you get a PA funnel cake! ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how hard it must be to completely move states ... but you have at least one nearby (less than an hour away) built-in friend! :)
AMAZING pictures! AMAZING. You are such a beautiful person!!!
ReplyDeleteAww, I can imagine how difficult it must be to move cities! All the best and hope you settle in your new home quickly..
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures and your blog too! xx
Gosh it seems like the time flew by! Im excited for you and your move but I definitely know how bittersweet it must feel. Starting over is always kind of scary, but God definitely won't put you through anything you can't handle. And, was that the funnel cake? I've never seen one like that before. I'm going to have to ship you one from Texas! The picture of the NY one looks more so like a sopapilla which is a Mexican dessert we have down here. But they are DELICIOUS too. Cute pics and love your necklace!
ReplyDeleteIs it that time already? I love how you get when you talk about your husband. It's so...sentimental and cute!
ReplyDeleteSometimes a low key day/weekend is what you need. You have no choice but to pay attention to your partner and the details of the day. ...and as always, great photos every time.
no
Oops, that was supposed to be xo (blasted phone!)
DeleteMore fair food. No Fair! And now you are spoiled by the big time fair. Oh well. Glad you had a nice low key weekend. You need to rest up for moving.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your last week before the move! I can't imagine how hard it's been only seeing Sean on weekends! I'm sure having him back during the week will make the move better.
ReplyDeleteI could barely read your post. All I saw was fried dough. Lol

ReplyDeleteI am excited about your interview. I feel the heaviness in my heart for your actual move away. God has a plan here & I am so excited for your new adventure.
Cool seeing you wearing that top again Faith, you really rock it. Best of luck with the move, I know it's going to be weird but like you say it is a new adventure and it's going to be an exciting one.
ReplyDeleteGreat pix. You so look pretty.

aww faith. We just moved over the river from Manhattan to Jersey City and I'm still sad about it so I ca only imagine how you feel. You can mourn your move -- there is nothing wrong with that. But dont mourn too long -- you don't wanna miss all the exciting new things. Goodluck with your interview!
ReplyDeleteAw girl... it all must be so hard! If it is any consolation, this weekend looks so perfect... I don't think you could have done some of your last days any better! xo
ReplyDeletewhat a fun weekend! you look beautiful and so happy :)
ReplyDeleteLove all the photos per usual! I love your shirt too :) . Just pack everything up the day before, you'll be aight. LOL ;) I'll even send you an email and tell you to get on it. I'm excited to see what your new place looks like (apartment and town).
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice weekend! I'm glad you got to spend some time with your man, I miss Garrett when we are apart too. I think that's a good thing. The Barge looks like a place I would love! I am so jealous of your bravery when taking pictures. I love that shot of the two ladies eating by the window but I would have never been brave enough to take it for fear that they would look at me like a crazy person. I need to get over that. Do you just take your camera and wear it around your neck when you go places? I need to get better at that. As far as this being your last weekend in NY, just soak it in and prepare for a new adventure! I'll be thinking about you!
ReplyDeleteFaith, good luck with the fresh new start, living in a new state and finding a new job...hope you get it!!! Lovely photos!

ReplyDeleteOh I know that ugly cry alllll to well! Happens to me every time we move (but I'm sure it WON'T happen when we finally move out of this crappy little town we are in now)
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be SO nice to be with Sean full time again. It'll make the move so much easier!
What is it about crappy fair food that makes up for the lameness of the actual fair?? :)

ReplyDeleteI've been in Fort Worth and I still get 'homesick.' :( But, I really like a lot of things about the area and I know we were meant to be in here for a reason and when I stop and reflect I actually visibly see the reason sometimes. I think the same will happen for you in time....but I really hope its an easy transition for you!
ReplyDeleteyay for the interview...good luck!! wow, 8 days! so crazy. i'm glad you are enjoying your time before you leave. you will love it once you get there, i know it!!
