I love flower day and look forward to it every month. I enjoy the process of picking up flowers and the process of creating bouquets to place around the house. On flower days I never decide before hand the flowers I'm going to handpick. I just pick out whatever catches my eye. I enjoy the fact that I never know what I'm going to end with until I'm done. And after I'm done I feel incredibly cheerful and happy to see them scattered around. I look forward to coming home from a long day at work and being greeting with blooming flowers bursting with colors.
I believe I've shared this before but during the winter, I tend to go on an hiatus on picking up flowers. I'm not entirely sure why as I think flowers would be beneficial to my mood during winter's gloom. I'll have to rethink this hiatus.
Any who, for this gloomy, grey Tuesday, I thought I'd share the flowers that are around my house this week and also figured that whenever I'm up to it, I'll continue to share my flower day posts here.

ReplyDeleteWhere do you pick up your flowers at? Is there a flower market? Just from those farmers markets every city and town does? or do you just go to a regular store? - Sometimes I'll pick up a $5 bouquet from Walmart when I'm feeling down.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are gorgeous and I've said it a million times, but I LOVE your house.
I honestly pick them up every and anywhere ... sometimes the farmers market, Giant (supermarket), Wegmans or Whole Foods. Depends on where I go grocery shopping that day.
DeleteThank you!! :)
I see it! I think I have to select "notify me" to let me know if you respond to each post.
DeleteI forget we have a Whole Foods!
It's no fun doing it this way ... I like to be able to respond personally but beggars can't be choosers! Yes, Whole Foods always has a nice selection and surprisingly they are priced well too!
DeleteFresh flowers in a room has a way of making us smile and brining a sense of calm and peace. Beautiful hobby of yours and nice choices too!
ReplyDeleteIt really does. It's amazing to me how something as simple as flowers bring those feelings. Thank you!! :)
DeleteI LOVE that you have a flower day!! Fresh flowers around the house always make everything feel brighter and fresh. I love the colors you went with! Sierra Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteIt's seriously my favorite day, haha. It really does and thank you! :)
DeleteThe flowers all look beautiful! It certainly adds a burst of sunshine and cheer to your life when you walk in the door.
ReplyDeleteI have allergies so I don't really have a lot of flowers around the house. I do have succulents which I am struggling to keep alive. But so far, its been 9 months so fingers crossed! Maybe I have broken my not so green thumb streak :-).
Thank you!! I wonder if there are some flowers that won't evoke allergies. I suffer from allergies in the spring and fall but don't seem to have an issue with flowers.
DeleteMy first few succulents died but after some trial and error I'm finally better at it. I purchased a palm tree last May and it's still alive. I'm a bit in shock because I had the worst brown thumb a few years ago, haha.
