Sean's mom ♥

IMG_2326

Sean’s mom had a heart attack two months ago. It took a while to write about because it was such a scary experience. This might sound selfish but Sean’s mom is so good to me and the thought of not having any moms in our lives was enough to make me feel really sorry for us. There’s nothing like a mom. She had to have a quadruple bypass surgery and spent two weeks in the hospital but she is back home and recuperating. Slowly but surely. She even asked if she could watch our fur-babies while we're in San Francisco so that's a big sign that she's getting and feeling better.

Sean’s mom has been through so much health wise. She had stage 4 colon cancer and beat it, has muscular dystrophy and now just had a heart attack. She keeps fighting and pushing through and I hope that we have her for many more years because to be honest, Sean is such a mama’s boy. I’m not just saying this, he truly is. He calls his mom about five times a day (sometimes more!) and often he doesn’t even have anything new to tell her. I mean, how could you when you speak on the phone that much in one day? Sean’s mom makes fun of him because of it but I know how much she appreciates and loves how much he calls her.

I remember when I got sick, my sister and brother in law came to our house and made us a bunch of meals and shoveled our entire property. It was the most generous gesture and really needed so it helped us when we were contemplating what we could do for Sean’s parents that would be needed while his mom is recuperating. It’s not easy taking care of another person so I am really thankful that my sister and brother in law helped us see what we could do that would actually be helpful.

I don’t know exactly where I’m really going with this post but I guess I wanted to document on the blog that my mother in law is a fighter and to remind you all to hold your love ones tight and let them know every single day that you love them. The last thing you want is to have to wonder if someone knew you loved them when it is too late to tell them.
