Five years in Pennsylvania

IMG_6905

Y’all ... five years of living in Pennsylvania! Say what?! I still remember the post I shared about us moving and it makes me laugh a little looking at it. Sean moved to PA one month before I did so he “celebrated” five years last month and I “celebrate” five years this month; the 12th to be exact. Either way, I can’t believe how much where we live now feels like home. When we first moved here, I didn’t think that it was possible that Pennsylvania would feel like home. I didn’t have a job, friends or family, and it felt like we were starting all over. But it was during this time I learned a lot about myself and also found a few passions that were hidden, like … photography, keeping a clean house (lol) and cooking up quite a storm. I also discovered a love for Netflix and almost wish that love had never been discovered. But moving on ... the last few weeks when we were out and about I took some pictures of where we live and decided what better place to share than here. I also added some old pictures that I've taken over the last five years of living in Pennsylvania. I really do love it here and hope that we get to stay here for many more years.

We went back to our first apartment in PA and snapped some pictures. It was hilarious to me for some reason.
I was tempted to stand by our old apartment door but in the end I just couldn't do it; in fear that the
person who lives there now would walk out and catch me being a strange human being.

The apartment on the far left was ours!

I guess you can say that I've been busy taking pictures the last five years.
I hope you all had a great week and that you have wonderful weekends! ♥

  1. Happy for you. I think California feels like home for me, definitely for the 15 year old. But we've had some struggles particularly financially so we haven't bought a place which I think takes away from the home feeling. But I love CA and I'm hopeful that our situation will change.

    1. Thank you. Yes, I completely agree that, that does take away from the home feeling. I am hopeful that your situation will change soon too. In the meantime, do what you can to make your current situation as comfortable and happy as possible. I believe that would help to make a difference right now.

  3. I'm happy that you're settled in and can call it home. It's so scary picking up and relocating but feels so much better once you get into a routine. We love Pennsylvania and a lot of my family is there. It's such a great place for us to visit. Sierra Beautifully Candid

    1. It really is scary especially when you don't do well with change. But I'm glad we (read: me) got out of our comfort zone because we never would have known that we could thrive elsewhere. Thank you!

  4. I can't believe it's been 5 years! That went incredibly quick. I remember you being pretty depressed when you first moved there, but I'm so glad you were able to make it home and make close friends! The town itself is adorable ! It's seriously one of the most charming small towns I've ever seen.

    1. I can't believe it either! Time is moving so quickly. Yeah, I was. It was hard being here at first but glad that time changes so many things! You know what? I think you're right ... it's such a charming and adorable town!

  5. Change is really hard for me...I cannot even imagine moving to an entirely new state (as I'm struggling with a new town at the moment!). I'm glad it feels like home for you now.

    1. Change was really hard for me too but I'll admit that the move helped me accept change. I still don't embrace change fully but I'm more willing to keep an open mind and accept that things will always change. Thank you!

I have a feeling that your new town is going to bring so many good things your way!
