I'm in Mourning.

You've been there for me through thick and thin. When I couldn't find an outfit to wear, I put you on and my outfit was an instant hit. If I wore you with a skirt, you made me a vixen. If I wore you with skinny jeans, you made me skinny. During fat days, I would put on a flowy shirt and you immediately made my legs look defined, and fat turned to phat!

You have been there with me when I wore you in the rain and even in the snow. I had no right to do that to you. I'll admit it, sometimes I didn't treat you like I should have. You were still a trooper for 5 years and didn't bail out on me during a time I was trying to impress. I thank you for that.

I would like to remember you during the good times.

Girl, I'm happy you didn't bail on me that night. I had a date with someone who wasn't my bf just yet. Hi hubs!

And here you were, brand spanking new. I was so proud to wear you. I received a great deal of pleasure enjoying how jealous my girlfriends were that I found you and they hadn't.

It hurts me to see you like this but I promise not to remember you this way.

I know you would want me to put on my big girl pants, wipe the tears from my face and just get out there and start searching. I appreciate that you don't want me to lose out on the chance that I might find something equally beautiful, but not purchase it, because of the fear that I might feel this hurt again. I will try to find another one, but just know that you were my first boot love and no boot will ever compare.

Please join me for a moment of silence for my most favorite pair of boots. Thank you.

  3. I still have my best shoes in my drawer although the screw in the heel is broken. They are my best and only.

  4. Don't say goodbye yet!! The most important (and forgotten) business is the COBBLER!! Find a good one, take those babies there- and I bet they can work their magic. I've had several fav pairs that they've been able to bring back to life. It's not goodbye yet....

  5. A homage to da boots! They were cute and you wore them well. Might be time to hit up DSW real soon if you havne't yet. No boot repair shop in town can fix that one. At least you can truly say you got your money's worth.

Sorry I haven't been blogging, but I'm back and getting caught up with all your lovely and wacky doings. This boot post had me laughing out loud.

I think it's worth seeing if they could be put on life support. :D

  15. You shouldn't give up just yet! Take them to a shoe repair shop and find out if they can be saved!

  16. Yes, I agree with Tiffany you just might be able to save them. The leather is the perfect color brown and they are fabulous. Good luck and keep us posted on what you get next or if you get them fixed.

  19. I wouldn't give up hope just yet! I have had three of my favorite pair of shoes repaired when I thought all was lost. One pair the heel came off almost completely and I worked across the street from this cobbler that I've heard great things about and let me just say he was awesome, he fixed that shoes and I'm still rockin those bad girls! The next day I took him like 4 other pair of broken shoes(yes I'm a hoarder I held on to them even if they were broken) and he not only fixed them but he made them look almost new again. Shined them right up.

I would check with some cobblers before sitting them out on the curb!

  21. Awww boo! I agree with some of the other ladies, maybe get a few opinions in repair before throwing in the towel on those awesome kicks.

We have a local shoe repair called the Cinderlla Shoe Shop- can you believe it?! He works wonders too- Too bad you aren't in Cali or we could take a boot trip there (mine are getting worn toes) :(

    Long live the boots!!!
