Nope, I plan to be a newlywed forever!
It is funny that now that the hubs and I have been married for a little over a year, everyone says that we are out of the newlywed stage.
The definition of a newlywed is obvious.
new·ly·wed –noun
a person who has recently married.
But to me, the word newlywed means fresh, exciting, new, irresistible, fun, spontaneous, lustful, sexy ... I'm sure you get my drift.
I always want to feel like we just got married because it represents all those great words to me.
Even now, the hubs and I call each other boyfriend and girlfriend. Not that being husband and wife isn't fun (because it is!) but I also remember just how exciting it was to be boyfriend and girlfriend.
I went all out to always look my best, smell my best and be on my best behavior. I wanted him to be so proud to tell his friends that I was his hot girlfriend and for them to tell him, that they were surprised that I was even dating him, ha!
When we get married we kinda forget about how sexy we are. Yes, those pajamas are comfortable but maybe once in a while a cute thong would do!
So I hope to never ever let anyone tell me that I am no longer a newlywed, because well, I feel like I am.
haha... love it!
ReplyDeleteStay newlyweds for as long as you can!!
You are so right, sometimes once we get married we become comfy. Instead we should always be the best of ourselves, this will make us like each other even more ;)!
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% and admit that sometimes I'm really bad about not getting into my PJs the second I get home and not looking as cute as usual. However, now that I'm pregnant, the PJs come out and I don't care hahaha
ReplyDeleteAww this post was so cute. I will take this advice into my future. Also, that is a great picture of you two! :)
ReplyDelete@Melissa, you have the greatest excuse ever! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tanisa! :)
I LOVE this post! i love feeling newlywed =) I plan to be all over my husband all the time and NEVER leave the honeymoon phase =)
ReplyDeleteI definitely believe in keeping it fresh and new. Never let it get old. As long as you two stay in love, it'll be great.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I LOVE the pic!
i love this post. it is so very true. we gotta keep the fun, the fresh and the sexy. he already put a ring on it but we still need to make an effort!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all that photo is so cute. You're so adorable. I love your outlook on marriage. You sure know how to keep it spiced up.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your legs are fabulous.
amen to that! i love seeing older couples who look like they're newlyweds! I strive for it! :)
ReplyDeleteI second that amen! Although I do love my sweat pants and hooded sweatshirts for bed- luckily the husband thinks I look cute in them!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I say a lifetime of being a newlywed is still too short. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI agree 200%!!!!! That's such a lovely way to look at marriage!!! In Uganda a newlywed is called a 'mugole' until the baby comes and I did not like it but now that I've read this post I'm going to tell everyone to call me 'mugole' forever!!! hahaha!
ReplyDeletePS: The pic is fabulous!
I love the photo. You look smoking hot. You have such a great outlook--that's awesome. I really like that. Oh and I love the shoes too
ReplyDeleteGREAT POST!!! Love it love it love it :) The hubs and I are coming up on our 5 year anniversary this spring, and it's hard to believe it's been that long because... we still love and live like we're newlyweds. It's so important to have fun together, not fall into a drab routine, keep things exciting, and laugh - a LOT.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, that is an amazing photo! Gorgeous!
Have a great weekend, doll!
Totally agree with you!
ReplyDeleteYou two seem like a fabulous couple...I doubt you'll have trouble keeping the newlywed sexiness alive :)
ReplyDeleteThat is SO sweet!! And look at that picture! Your legs! OMG! Killer! I want them ... like now! Haha!!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fabullous weekend! Xo
Aww you guys are too cute :) We aren't married yet, but have been together for 10 years! So we already feel like we are married, and definitely need to remember to liven it up and keep it fresh! Good for you guys :)
ReplyDeleteAwww!! This was so cute!!! I feel the very same way you do... my hubby and I have been married almost a year now, and I'm so scared of letting things get old and boring!! But I am SO guilty of wearing the completely non sexy pajamas pretty much every night. Lol. Oops!!
ReplyDeleteYou're so cute Faith! (catchin up again - prepare for a barrage of comments!!
Hot photo! And yes, keep the fire burning for life! That's the spirit. :-) The more you make it a goal, the more intentional you'll be about making time for it. :-)
