Are You As Excited As I Am?

Well, you should be!

American Idol starts tonight!

The absolute best part about the beginning is that the hubs will always watch with me. This is when you can't tell between the good and bad singers. I mean sometimes you can but you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

There is always that poor singer, who for some reason no one had the heart to tell them that they should not sing for anyone, ever.

Although, I can't watch a bad audition {meaning I close my eyes or I actually walk away because I feel embarrassed, like the person on the screen is me} the hubs loves to. When I say he loves to, I mean he laughs like someone is tickling him everywhere on his body for a hour.

Because he is laughing so hard, sometimes I giggle. But only because he is laughing so hard. Not because of the poor singer who truly believes in her heart that she is Whitney Houston.

I'm excited to see the chemistry between the new judges too. I was sure I wouldn't watch after Simon left BUT when they told me that Jenny from the Block would be one of the new judges I was like, OK maybe I would give it a chance. And then when they said Steven Tyler, the Steven Tyler from Aerosmith would be the judge, I was like, heck yeah! I'm in!

So for the next few weeks I will be closing my eyes AND ears, possibly giggling and for sure cheering for someone to become the next American Idol! I can't wait!

p.s. It's post like these that make me realize just what a huge dork I am. I hope it never changes.

  1. I can't wait!! Hubby and I normally watch the entire season together, but he's away on business this week. I'll have to call him so we can laugh over the phone lol. Can't wait to see how the new judges work out!

  2. Faith,

I didn't even know. I knew the day was coming. I'll sit and watch for a few minutes because I am curious. During the auditions is when I usually watch because well, I like a good laugh. I actually have a relative who auditioned (years ago) and they aired the audition. Apparently no one had the heart to tell her and I never said a thing after seeing the audition.

I like the new combination of judges, but I will miss "Simon Speaks." I mean, somebody needs to let the people know when they should choose another life profession. Singing isn't for everybody.

  3. I am the exact same way with the bad singers. Especially when they get down to the top 12 and someone has an off day...I can't bare to hear what the judges are going to say so I change the channel

  7. I am glad Simon is taking some time off from judging. He does so many judging that he is getting feed up :).

I like the new combination of judges - let some glam and rock&roll spice up the show! We watch it here in UK but normally I am not a big fan, maybe this year I will watch it - though I like it more when the auditions are over.

I like the UK X Factor :), which is very similar AI.
Have you heard that X Factor is coming to the USA soon?

Well, you all going to love the cute Ms Cole, if she is one of the judges as I heard ;)!

  8. I agree with you! I can't watch bad auditions either. Yes they're funny, but they also make me feel really bad for the person, and super guilty for laughing!

  12. I don't start watching until the last 4 or 5 contestants are left. I can't handle watching people get voted off. lol.

  13. I love Idol, too. But I can't watch the super awkward ones, either. I totally have to walk away or change the channel. Glad I'm not he only one ;)

  14. Oh Faith. You crack me up.

I might have to sit this one out. I think I'm traumatized after Dancing with the Stars last season.

  17. Ohhhh honey, I love AI, too! And I'm totally on board with all of the new changes. I tuned in Wedensday night, not knowing what to expect - and truthfully, my expectations were low.

And then, I was totally into the show within the first 5 minutes! I will always love AI!!! :)

  19. I think we are watching opposite shows, because I'm not an Idol fan, however the hubs will watch Bachelor with me, so i know what you mean because tv is so much better when you watch it with the one you love!

I do really like Jenny from the Block so maybe I will end up tuning in :)

    XOXO

  20. I gave up on Idol three years ago. I DO like watching the auditions though. But you're right, sometimes it's too painful to watch. Lol.

  21. Dang! I can't believe I missed AI, even though I only watch for the auditions.

  22. Ha my man only watches the beginning ones too because they are funny :) I do miss having Simon on there though, there needs to be at least ONE mean person! Randy is kinda taking over that roll but he is no Simon lol. Sadly, it doesn't seem like they aired as many funny auditions this year. More of the good people. Which makes me sad because it means Peej won't be watching it much longer....
