What Happens In Vegas Will Get On The Blog (#2)

{Edited to add: I've been advised from my lovely friend Carolyn that my comment box is not working on this post. I have no idea what's going on or how to fix it. I have two comments on this post so I guess it worked for two people. I'm sorry about that}

-----------------------------------------------------------------

We arrived in Vegas around 1:30am Thursday morning. Almost 3 hours behind schedule. And we were tired because it was really 4:30am for us due to the 3 hour difference. But of course we decided that we could not just go to bed.

We got our rental and drove down the strip for MIL and FIL to view since it was their first time visiting Vegas.

When we reached our hotel (Rio) we checked in and then decided to walk around the hotel. Las Vegas is the second city that never sleeps. While I was dragging my feet looking like I had been hit by a dump truck everyone was dressed to the nines either going out or losing their money. As much as I want to tell you that we stayed up, I can’t. Being the old farts we are, within 30 minutes my head hit the pillow and I was out.

That day we woke up pretty late and the first thing we did was search for a place to have breakfast. I had the most delicious breakfast. Waffles topped with strawberries and whipped cream on the side. My favorite!

After breakfast we decided to walk around the hotel since it was raining. Raining?! In Vegas! I’ve been going to Vegas every 2 years since 2006 and I’ve never, ever seen it rain. I didn’t even know it could rain Vegas. Well, it did. It wasn’t crazy rain but you would think it was because every 30 minutes our phones were going off with flood alerts. Our plans for sun, a pool day and fruity drinks was squashed.

OK, I take that back. I still had fruity drinks.

{Did you ever think you would see a picture with a camera hung around Sean's neck? Yeah, me neither.}

After some walking we decided to sit at the penny slots and see if luck was on our side.

{It wasn't but it was for the person sitting right next to us. On a penny slot he played the max which was $4.00 and won $3,000.00. He was only sitting in that chair for 5 minutes.}

{With no luck on the penny slots we continued to walk around our hotel}

The Rio had this show playing every hour in the hotel. It was awesome. The group sang Top 20 music and their voices were incredible!

Excuse my camera. I should have known around this time that my camera was going to act up and refuse to cooperate with me after that day.

Someone was enjoying the show. Oh and his hand is up because they were throwing beads at us.

And not very much longer after these picture was taken we found out that Aunt Phyliss had passed away. Upstairs to our room we went and we stayed there for a while consoling my MIL.

We had plans to go out that night but weren't sure if we should. My MIL said for us to go and that she wanted to be alone. So we got ready for a night of dancing which was a lot of fun since we have not gone out dancing in forever.

And this is where you are going to get a lot of pictures of me. Let me apologize ahead of time. I'm sorry.

Hmmm, I don't look too sorry.

(Overdose of the fog machine at the VooDoo Lounge, for reals)

FIL surprised us and met us out!

(I took a picture with Hotness because I liked her hair. And maybe her flat tummy too. Oh and her name is not Hotness, I just named her that)

I'll love to tell you that we danced until 4am but I can't. We're old farts. Our minds tell us we can do it but our aging bodies disagree. Sigh.

But we did not go up to our room until we took a ridiculous amount of pictures together. Camera with a self timer on top of a penny slot? Check!

I kinda look like I can still go on for a few more hours.

He seems ready though. Or he is telling Facebook where we are. He doesn't get it. Stalkers are real.

Peace and good night! ♥

    Isn't always the rule that the person NEXT to you hits the jackpot. UGH!

    I've never been to the Rio, but I would definitely have to recommend having the buffet breakfast at Mandalay Bay... seriously the best food ever (and they have basically everything you can think of).
