Apparently I'm not real. My life is too good.

OK, let’s get this out there. And when I say there, I mean blog land universe. Because once it’s there, it’s there. No one can remove it and I kinda like that.

My blog is very positive.
You would rarely see me have a very serious note around here.
Because of that I’m not real because I sprinkle fairy dust and glitter around these parts.
I would be more real if I spoke about how hard life is.
How horrible my family and friends are.
What low self-esteem I have.
How horrible my marriage is.
But fortunately for me, that isn’t true.
My life is not hard.
I hardly ever cry because of bad times.
I feel completely blessed about this because that can change at any moment.
But right now, at this point in my life, life is so good.
I don’t have much to complain about but I’m also a glass half full kind of individual.

So if you want me to make up something, to make you feel better that I am suffering, that way I can show you that I relate, well ... you’re at the wrong place.
I’m sorry, I’m not sorry. This is what you will get right now.
Fairy dust. And glitter. And everything sparkly and nice.
And an occasional rant like this one.
But if something bad happens I’ll tell you because I’m documenting my life for 85 year old Faith, that way she never forgets any of it.

The good and the flipping bad.

(this is also when i wish i would use swear words on this blog. flipping will just have to do).

What is real to you?

  1. Grr! Stay away from my Faith :) Even if your life is not all glitter, you are smart not to post negative on the internet. It doesn't go away like you said. Rock on, Faith. You are awesome.

  2. I love that your blog is a positive place! I have a tendency to lean towards the glass is half empty (working on changing that outlook) and reading your blog is such an encouragement to me that life can in fact be good! Thank you!

Keep on keeping on with your good life, Faith!

  3. Lol! Love it! Like I always tell my hubby, life is hard enough as it is. If I am watching senseless reality tv or reading blogs, it cause I want to forget about the hardship of life and be distracted for a bit!
Blogging should be fun. Not a complaint board! I often remove folks from my Facebook feed if they are always posting negatives. No one wants to read that!

I've known you for years and all I've felt from you is indeed fairy dust and glitter (and I don't even like glitter!)...but I love yours!...and your blog...and the smile it puts on my face! Negative Nancy's can find another dark hole to read...this blog is a perfect ray on sunshine!

  9. Chile PLEASE tell those debbie downers to get it together. I am right there with you! Bring on the fairy the dust and what nots and tell 85 year old Faith we have a bladate to read this post and laugh hysterically over a bottle of white wine!

You seem quite real to me, and I am sure you do not have to post rants to know that some times things are a pretty fair share of normal with you and Sean.

  10. I like dust and glitter too. Not sure why people want negative things?! negative likes company I guess. but I think we should be true to what we blog about and if happiness is how you feel than blog about unicorns and dust by all means!! :D

  11. Wait a minute. What's going on? What's wrong with being happy?!?! I'm confused. HAHA!

  12. I wish it was Negative Nellie instead of Negative Nancy!! HEE!
Girl - I'm with you! I don't want to look back on shitty times, I want to remember the highlights!
Jealousy makes people hate. They just must be lacking in love or good times. Keep on blogging your awesome life, because it is YOUR blog, uplifting to all of the one's that want good & makes me HAPPY!!!

  13. I love this post! It seems some people feed off negative energy, but I actually like the realness that you give off. I've been reading your blog for a few months now & I can say your blog is well-rounded!!

  14. Love this! Just like I love glitter and happy things. Your blog is a breath of fresh air when everyone else seems to be "poor me."

  15. I get that sometimes too. It's annoying! So, way to go! Personally, I like the fairy dust ;)

  16. I cannot believe that some people actually felt the need and had the audacity to tell you that you're not real because you post about things being positive all the time, to call you not real is just ridiculous and stupid, the stupidity of some people never fails to amaze me.

I mean I'm not going to lie Faith, when it comes to your life there is a lot to envy. You and Sean have one of the cutest, strongest relationships that I've ever read about, you run a blog that's so popular and well written and you always seem to have a good time! Instead of being jealous I love reading about it, it makes me realise that there are good things in life that actually are worth waiting for, that even when things are bad there can be a relatively happy ending and that's so encouraging and inspiring.

Some of the things you've said about your childhood with your wonderful sisters makes it sound like things weren't always easy but look at how well all of you have turned out, if someone looks at your blog and sees something negative out of all the positivity and good vibes then they need to re-evaluate their lives. I just realised how long this comment is haha, sorry, I'll end it here!

  17. It only takes one person to crap all over your blog and make you feel lousy doesn't it? I've had my share of those people - I actually had to ask one girl to stop leaving me comments and quit reading my blog. Fun times right?

You're fun and cheery and sassy and very real. Happy to know you and your fairy dust friend!

  18. You just keep rockin happy, glass half full Faith! It's YOUR blog and YOUR life, pretty lady! You make the rules, set the tone, etc. and I love it! Wouldn't want it any other way,

  19. I feel this same way! I feel so blessed in my life. Sometimes too blessed, like the crap is going to hit the fan at any moment. But until then I will remain happy-go-lucky. xx. McKenna Lou

  20. I am all for fairy dust and glitter. We need more positive people in the world.

  21. Did someone actually say that to you?? How rude! And how would they know?!

I love your blog and your glitter... keep it coming!!!

  22. Love this my friend. Way to stay positive and enjoy life. :)

  23. I think you should blog whatever you want. This blog is yours. Anyone who doesn't like it has the option to not follow you or read.

I personaly like to share the ups and downs but that is me. IF you don't have any then like you said you should share that because you are truly blessed.

Not that the downs in my life are not blessings because they have awakened me and made me stronger.

BUT like I said if this is your life then you are free to live it, share it and celebrate it anyway you want.

    :)

  24. many people stop by your blog because you are a fairy godmother :)

  25. Keep sprinkling your fairy dust, because you can write what you want because it is your blog. I enjoy coming over here because I think your are real.

  26. you are VERY real, faith!! it's your blog and YOUR life...and when it's fabulous, you celebrate it! keep doing what you're doing! i love your positivity...you're always smiling and when you want to vent, you do. everyone should be entitled to write and share what they want. and when life is good, that's something to document!
85 year old faith will be proud!
    lots of love xoxo

  27. Savor and celebrate every good moment. We need more positivity in the world. Folks have the option to not read if they can't take the positivity and fabulousness that is your world (That sounds ridiculous, btw). As for me, I love it! Keep bringing the happy.

  28. Well said- sometimes thing are just plain good, and its nice to be appreciate them, and to blog about that. :-)

  29. If that's the case then you are definitely that blogger everybody loves to hate except no one does because we like you so much! I think it's awesome that life is good. You are very fortunate and I hope it stays that way for you forever.

  30. haha. flipping. that's the extent of my "f" word too:-)

Being positive isn't a bad thing! And neither is sharing that positivity. It's definitely something to celebrate and be thankful for! xoxo

  31. i just read your comment again about telling me it is my blog and i need to do what i want! same to you! :) i love your blog. it makes me happy!!

  32. I try to keep my blog positive, too. Happiness rubs off. I have discouraging times, but I'd rather focus on what I can learn from them rather than use my blog as a place to complain. I don't grow from that and I don't think anyone else does, either. The venting is for my private journal. :) I love your fairy dust and glitter!

  33. always keep positivity!!!! love how you got real and genuine in this post, dear! :D

  34. Faith if you change your blog writing style up just because someone may have said you weren't "real", I will personally come kick your butt! And then in 55 years I will come and steal your cane and beat your 85 year old self with that! So there. Ok, but really though, I love your blog, the way you write, everything! If someone complained about you being to full of fairy dust and glitter, then they obviously don't understand that glitter is a girls best friend!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love your blog writing! Bring on the fairy dust and glitter! And what a joy from God that life has been full of praises and blessings :) Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

  36. Please don't change Faith and definitely don't listen to those comments. You are a positive and happy person and that's the best way to live life.

It's not like if you put all your problems out there they are going to solve them for you so whatever.

I love that you are positive and fun and happy all the time. I come here for my little dose of happiness in blogland :)

  37. People can be stupid sometimes. I guess they want you to feel down because they do ? Just tell them to grow up and be about your business. If they want to read a blog full of complaining and whininig and over exaggerated opinions on trivial crap-than they can write their own blog =D

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh my! Yes, I would definitely want to read a blog that just complained about their life all the time...not. I love all your fairy dust, glitter, and everything sparkly!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I don't understand people that just want to hear about other people's problems and issues. I would much rather hear about the good. There is too much negativity everywhere else, and we don't necessarily need it in our memory books or blogs (I know some people like that for their own stuff, but I for one, like your positivity). =)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Who reads blogs wanting to see sad/bad/negative stuff?!? Blogging and reading blogs are my little guilty pleasure...key word, pleasure. Keep it positive and happy. Most of us probably get enough "whine and cheese" in real life! lol

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think we are ALL here for the fairy dust and glitter! rock on girl!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Man, I am guessing someone must have said something. :( It is so easy for people to say mean things behind the veil of the internet, but I am sure they are left feeling even more unhappy, so for that I pity them. I think you are a lot more "real" than some bloggers, but you know what? It is your blog and you are allowed to share whatever you want! It is a place to document the good times and good memories, and it is great that you have so many to share! We love you girl. <3

  46. Strange, I just read an article today where someone was talking about how people post only the good things on their blogs and instagram and FB. Well duh, who wants to see debby downers posting statuses all over FB?!? I sure don't! I like to see the good in people's lives. Sure, it makes me compare my life to theirs sometimes, but I kinda like that. It makes me know what I want to change and make better in my own life. I love coming to your blog and seeing your big smiling face and sweet nice posts. Not gonna lie though, I did used to read one blog that I stopped reading because I really was feeling worse about myself after reading that blog... she had more money, lived in a huge house, had a perfect marriage etc etc. But your blog is just REAL! And I love that about you. I will certainly stop reading blogs, looking at instagram pics, and FB pics and statuses if all people are posting is negativity!! Keep doing what you're doing, you obviously have a HUGE fan base who always comes back for more :)
