It's OK

Disclaimer: I'm in a kind of feisty (but good one surprisingly) mood tonight so go back to loving me tomorrow, mmmkay?

It's OK that I pretended I was eating the all red Starburst jellybeans while I snacked on strawberries today. Whatever works.

It's OK that I am a little annoyed that I can't find the all red Starburst jellybeans anywhere. Is it only an Easter thing?!

It's OK that I fell asleep on the couch after five minutes of watching House last night. So not OK.

It's OK that I miss going to bed at 5am just because I could.

It's OK that I hate driving on the highway because I still haven't mastered how to look over my shoulder to ensure that I'm not cutting anyone off too closely. I just close my eyes and pray nothing bad happens. Kidding. Sorta.

It's OK that I wish that I did not have a business casual dress code for work. It was so nice wearing whatever I wanted the last 6+ years. I'm thinking it's high time that I donate my hoodies from college.

It's OK that lately I've been feeling like my blog is one big bore. I just don't know what I want to share anymore. What's worst than having a boring blog? Oh yeah, unemployment. That settles that.

It's OK that last night I went grocery shopping for a few things and almost picked up a frozen pizza that way it would feel like Sean was home.

It's OK that my sister texted me this link and the laughter, (like real burst out laughing, laughter) would not stop for at least ten minutes. So hilarious and so true because my mom is proof!

It's OK that when I see people hashtag clean eating, vegan, gluten free and organic ALL THE TIME I want to choke them and say good for you!!! Why does everyone feel the need to brag about this on Instagram? #foodtrendsannoyme. I'm gonna post all the unhealthy things and hashtag dirtyeating ... you know, payback and all ;). I'm gonna keep all my healthy eats private that way you can judge me like I judge you. Oh and if you ever see me Instagram a bowl of strawberries and hashtag organic scream in horror and comment "my eyes, my eyes!!" I'll delete it swiftly ;).

It's OK if you're mad. As long as you tell the people why you're mad, son.

It's OK if you have no idea what the last one means ... and if you do, I kinda love you.

It's OK to use the wink face after you've said something a little mean. Why? It makes it 50% less mean. Proven fact.

It's OK that my excessive selfie taking means I have a mental disorder. If that's what they're considering mental disorders these days we must be getting better with mental health overall. Win, win for human kind so go on with your selfie self!

It's not OK that my "It's OK" post just made me realize how not OK half my list is. What a bummer. "It's OK" post gone wrong. I'll just take a selfie to feel better. I may or may not share it on Instagram but then it's like it didn't happen and well, we can't have that, now can we?

It's OK that I think I should add that I do enjoy healthy foods. It is honestly the only way I can indulge when I want. I love accounts I follow on Instagram that main goals are to inspire you to make better and healthier choices. They aren't the ones hashtagging all the trends with food these days to humble brag. When you hashtag clean eating for a bowl of strawberries I find myself saying well, DUH! It's a bowl of strawberries, genius. Just hashtag "getinmahbelly" and I'll like your picture ;).

It's OK that I do not think that those powder shakes people supplement for actual food is clean eating. Nope, sorry to let you know but that powder stuff is not clean eating!

It's OK that I feel that I have to say something totally unrelated now like:

It's OK that while researching towns I'm now thinking about the school districts. Thinking of little Seans running about with bowls of organic strawberries feels good.

  1. Seriously dying over the instagram food comment posts!!!! Am I the only one that isn't falling into the posting pictures of what I eat fads? I'm not giving up cheese, or cheesecake for that matter any time soon!

  2. My favorite line "thinking of little Seans" ;-)

  3. Love this post! I definitely know what you mean about the food trends and clean eating. As much as I wish I liked eating healthy, I just don't. Lol. My metabolism will catch up with me one day...

And that last line is so sweet! :)

  5. Your blog is not boring. I literally am always hoping to see a new post when I read my blog roll each day. Also, little Seans....I would like that too :)

  7. Oh, I so agree with you about the trendy clean eating garbage! Eat foods that make you feel good for YOU, not so the world will think you're some kind of health goddess. And I can't stand the #imafoodie thing. I love food, too. And I love trying different kinds. Since when do we have to use some kind of pretentious term to describe it? Just to make your love of food better than mine? Drives me crazy.

    Rant over.

  8. Okay okay, the clean eating made me laugh too.

I like posting some of my clean eating garbage just because the photos look so nice and colorful, not because I want to brag about how healthy I eat, not at all :).

If I see you liking any of my 'healthy eating' junk photos I will report you ;).

Oh, I want to see little Seans and Faiths running about with bowls of organic strawberries, lol :)

  28. haha... this post made me laugh! And I can't stand foodie posts either. Though many could say they're fed up of my baby pics. #Organicbaby haha... to each his own.

  29. I love reading your blog...I always leave smiling or wishing I was eating something you just ate, or wearing the cute outfits like you wear!

I had to share my random thought...as I was reading the last sentence, I read "bowl cuts" instead of bowls of strawberries, hahahahaha!! Either way those little Seans will be so cute running around! ;) (although with you as their mom we know they wont be so unfashionable as to have a bowl cut).

  30. Where do I start?! The driving thing...I just don't belong on the road lollll. That's all. The clean eating/vegan thing...bothers me too. It's kinda like a passive better than thou jab lol (can't think of it another way). But you said it best...Humble Brag. Your blog is 100% not a bore. Don't even think that. I love the idea of little seans and faiths running around ;)!

  31. The strawberries post had me literally laughing as well as the eating clean thing..

  32. Glad I haven't migrated to Instagram...And yeah those protein drinks are yucky and so not clean eating...Finally, let the selfies continue...

  33. I don't think your blog is a bore- I LOVE it!!

I'm an IG food trend offender. But I really am Gluten Free but not because it's a trend but for real medical issues. Using the hashtag has helped me find other GF people (with real medical issues) and vice versa- it's been helpful.

And I am loving the idea of little Sean's!!! Seriously.

  34. Hahahaha! I'm totally cracking up right now! I'm going to use the #dirtyeating!!! That is SO me!
Your blog is SO not boring! It's actually pretty awesome!!!
