Sometimes no post title will do.

On June 30th, 2014, my mother in law was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer.

To say it caught us all off guard is a bit of an understatement but we kept optimistic and we prayed a ton.

On April 30th, 2015, my mother in law had her last chemo treatment.

It has been a long road for us and an even longer road for her.

It was hard not to worry when she had those really bad days but often enough she would have good days which would remind us that she was not in this fight alone.

It felt really, really good to watch her ring the bell. It is a honor as we were later told that for the 10 months that my mother in law was receiving treatment only two other individuals were able to ring that bell.

So when you think of blessings it is hard not to add this one to it.

After she rung the bell we took my mother & father in law out for a celebratory dinner on the lake.

It was a bit chilly so we sat inside but had an amazing view.

A view that reminds you how great it is to be alive and how blessed you are to be able to see and take in all the beauty that life offers.

The gold plaque reads, "Ring this bell three times well, it's tolled to clearly say, "My treatment's done, its course is run, and I am on my way..."

Then we were off for our celebratory dinner!

We were so darn full that we had to get our desserts to go!

Admiring the view.
That's one thing I really, really miss about Upstate NY.
PA just does not have lakes, let around restaurants on a lake.

  7. Tears of joy! So happy that your mother-in-law is through with the chemo.
Tomorrow is my mother-in-laws last day of chemo (for breast cancer), and Scott is on a flight home right now to surprise her and be there for her.
Cancer sure does suck, but it's so rewarding when our loved ones are able to kick its butt.
