Scenes from New Years Eve.

Sean and I usually go out to dinner on New Years Eve but this year for the first time in the longest while we decided not to do so.

Last year, we made reservations to have dinner at a popular restaurant and the service was just not great. Our food came out cold and we waited such a long time for that cold food. In the end, it was actually more annoying than fun and so this year we made different plans. The plan was for us to cook dinner at home, then go to one of Sean's co-workers home for a little New Years Eve gathering and then Broadway Social for some dancing.

We decided on a menu of steak topped with green peppers, mushrooms & onions, mashed potatoes from scratch and baked broccoli. There was of course wine for me and Jameson for Sean. It was delicious and actually a lot of fun to prepare our last dinner of the year together. For dessert we had Rolo stuffed pretzels. So easy to make and tasty!

Who knows? Maybe we have a new tradition.
After dinner, we got ready and we were off to welcome the New Year.

I did not take any pictures after this but we had such a great time ringing in the New Year.

I have to admit that on the 1st, I began to feel a little bit of excitement for a new year. You know, all the possibilities, the fresh starts.

I just want 2016 to be the year I look back on and say, "Man, that was the highlight year for me!" So I’m saying it and claiming it for myself, my family, my friends and you! Happy New Year, guys! ♥

  6. Your NYE dinner looks much like our NYE dinner! We had steak too. Except we stayed home in our jammies afterward. I am so impressed that you went out!

  7. Lovely tradition! I often either go to Church or stay at home. It was nice and quiet this year and I fell asleep around 10pm. Hubby tried to wake me up to wish me a happy New Year but I was OUT! :-).
    Happy New Year!
