Basket Case Wife

A few minutes after writing my post on babies, the hubby called me. I was a little surprised that I was getting a phone call so early because the hubs has rugby practice on Thursdays. He called to tell me that he was having chest pains so he was coming to get me that way we can go to the ER. At first, I thought he was joking but unfortunately he wasn't.

I started to panic. Was my athletic, healthy husband having a stroke or a heart attack? I know, a bit dramatic since he is young, but when your hubby is never sick and all of a sudden he feels he needs to go to the ER, you begin to think the worst.

I quickly put on some clothes and within minutes I was in the car and we were heading to the ER. I started to cry. I couldn't help myself. I was expecting the worst but the hubs was as calm as could be. I guess, he had no choice when he has a basket case for a wife.

We get there and I have to say that I am so impressed with the hospital. Within a few minutes, he was in a room and getting an EKG. They asked him so many questions and I was also impressed with how well he answered. How calm he appeared.

He had a chest X-ray and blood work done. I couldn't watch while they took his blood. I was so sad to see him lying in that tiny hospital bed knowing that he was nervous but was hiding it for me.

I was relieved to hear that he was not having a stroke or a heart attack. The doctor states that he must have gotten tackled wrong at the last game and that he should lay off of rugby for a few weeks until the chest pains go away.

They gave him Lortab and Naprosyn and we went on our merry relieved way.

We got home around 1am. Wearing puffy eyes to work is not a good look, so I went into work late the next day and the hubby didn't go to work at all. The doctor recommended he rest.

You all know that this weekend was their final game. What do you think he did?

I'll let you know soon.

  7. Glad he's OK! I bet he still played! That's exactly what my husband would have done because guys don't listen lol

I had to take my husband to the emergency room about a month after we got married because he jammed his finger sliding into base while playing softball. It was no big deal, but I completely freaked out, so I can't even imagine how you were feeling! I would have cried too!

  8. It is sooooo natural to get like that when you don't know what's wrong with a loved one. I'm glad he's ok but tell him he needs to sit his tail for a few.
