July 4th!

This was the first July 4th in a long time {4 years to be exact} that I didn't spend with the hubs. I can tell that this new shift of his is getting old very quickly but I realize that I have to get use to not having him around for the weekend. I could have laid around all day but I was determined to enjoy the 4th since I love everything about it. Especially fireworks.

I spent the day with my two ex-roommates. After college, we all moved and lived together for two years. It seriously was one of the best times of my life. So it was a blast to be together. We laughed a ton, talked and reminisced about our younger days. It boggles me how much we have grown up but we are also still the same.

After hanging around the pool we went downtown to watch the fireworks. It was incredibly crowded, but it always is. We parked quite a distance to avoid the traffic after the fireworks ended.

Let me warn you right now. I love fireworks. Like a lot. So much that if I knew I could do them on my own without hurting myself, I would. I would love to have fireworks on every holiday. To be honest, I am surprised that it isn't done more often. Anywho, the reason I say this is because I kinda got picture happy during the show.

All smiles after the fireworks!

Trying to get out of there was insane! Traffic and people everywhere! It was worth it though!

If you didn't get to see fireworks yesterday, now you can say you did. You're welcome!

  12. Haha! Thanks for showing the fireworks! I didn't get see any this year because we were returning from vacation. It's a real pain to fight the crowds in DC to see the fireworks but a must do at least once in your life!
