Peeve on Peeves

You know what I dislike more than anything about blogging. A blog post that is targeted to point out to others what they dislike about other people's blog.

Yes, most of the time the posts are general but I often wonder, why anyone wants to put something like that on their blogs.

I understand that by me writing this post I am doing the same thing but I just had to say it because I'm kinda sick of seeing these posts. They get so much attention and they make me sick.

For instance, I understand that some people cringe at the thought of grammar errors. Yes, they happen. To the best of us. But when you make a post just to poke fun at people who make them it gets to me. If you don't like a post because of grammar errors then unfollow and keep it moving. Why make a whole post that way you can get others geared up to say other things they dislike about bloggers?

If a blogger wants to post a million and one pictures of the same thing, their child, etc, what do I care? It is their blog after-all. They can post whatever the hell they want. If you don't like it, unfollow and keep it moving.

If a blogger wants to showcase every single outfit they wear, let them. If you don't think they have the style to showcase their outfits then again, unfollow, and keep it moving. You don't like their style in clothes? Who cares? You aren't wearing it. Does it hurt you in any physical way?

I am certain I do plenty of things that annoy other bloggers. So for me to go out of my way to point out things that annoy me about other bloggers is just ridiculous. None of us are perfect so there is more than one person that I annoy the hell out of. And do I care? Not at all. Unfollow me and keep it moving.

All of this to say, if you have nothing nice to write about your fellow bloggers, write nothing at all.

I might delete this post depending on how I feel in a few hours. So the few of you who get lucky enough to read this, awesome.

  2. I agree. It's so funny we were blogging about pet peeves at the SAME EXACT TIME! OMG I just blogged about a pet peeve of mine because right now I am so annoyed.

  3. Meh. People like to complain and be snarky. ::shrug:: Don't let it get to you!

  4. Being a victim of this myself I agree so much with this. If you don't like something then don't comment on it, don't tell somebody how to blog and how not to, it's their blog after all. Saying that when somebody did that to me I foolishly did the exact same and called them out on it but I guess they started it, I'd never have made a post insulting someone if they hadn't done so first.

I'd keep this post Faith, there's honestly nothing wrong with you expressing your dislike for those types of people in my opinion. I know nobody decent would look down on you for posting it.

  5. Well said! Very Very well said, couldn't agree more with all of this!

  6. Well said!! People should be able to say whatever they want on their blog... you are right. It is no one's business to judge what other people write!!

  8. SO true! People have the right to post and do whatever they like, if you don't like it don't visit their blog! LOL duuhhhh :)

  9. Well said! Don't delete this post! It's an important topic people need to read about. Blogging should be about supporting and inspiring one another.

  10. My blog is probably not popular enough to where I've ever been aware of another blogger posting peeves about mine! Which is good. We are all one big blogger family. There are plenty of things that might annoy me about other blogs and some of them are just preference half the time. I choose not to blog about it. I just keep it to myself.

  11. Totally agree with you! I mean, if people don't like certain things about blogs, then don't read it. I tend to gravitate towards blogs that I enjoy reading - plain and simple. And speaking of, glad I came across yours today! (o:

  15. I agree with you 100%. A blog is about someone's personal journey. Who is anyone to judge? Just hush... unfollow... and keep it moving.

  16. To each is own. That's right ~ well said, my friend!!

  17. I agree! Don't delete this! People put so much more energy into being negative and sarcastic then they do into being kind and positive sometimes. Like it's a victory to make others laugh, even at another's exense. It's sad, really. I love reminding myself to seek for the good things. It doesn't do anyone, including myself, any good to dwell on the negative.

  18. very real and very true! some people are inherently negative and its very unfortunate!

  19. I am so with you on this, sometimes blogging can feel like high school all over again. :-)

  20. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

I am so over so many people whining and bitching about the stupidest stuff. I love blogging but some people are ridic. For many, I've just stopped reading. I don't have a lot of time to blog and when I do I want to enjoy it.

  21. I've never read any post like that, but I am sure people might complain about my grammar errors, because I am so bad at that, LOL :).

  22. soooo TRUE!

I like to blog for myself and maybe my mama. Not for anyone else. If people read it great if not, I don't care. People are always telling me a blog about my dog a lot. Well go read something more exciting and stop complaining about me and my blog.
Couldn't have said this better myself!

  23. DONT DELETE!! because it's soo true! people's blogs are like their own personal space and they should be able to do and say in whatever form that pleases them! tell 'em sista!!

  24. Faith, I hear you lady. There's a blog dedicated to gossiping and making fun of fashion bloggers. Someone blogged about it and I went on it once and then saw how incredibly negative it was and never went back (i have to admit i was curious) then i saw how mean spirited and hateful it was and that was that. i understand how you are annoyed right now lady! oh and you're awesome and i'm not annoyed by any of your posts!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Agreed. I'm so thankful you haven't "kept moving" from my blog taken into account that I still have yet to post DIY hutch pics from over a year ago :)

  26. This is by far THEEE best post ever! I'm not gonna lie, I was cracking up. "Unfollow and keep it moving." The funniest thing ever. There's always gonna some self-righteous know-it-all somewhere. I try to steer clear of those types. I've missed your blog while away!

  28. Good girl!! Just wanted to let you know I tagged you in a post on my blog here http://nabstural.blogspot.com/2012/01/tag-im-it.html . Hope you have a chance to check it out soon!!

  29. It's a superiority thing. I have seen lots of comments on blogs and Twitter (when are you joining byt he way) that put other people down. I totally agree that it's ridiculous. People start their own blog b/c it's their own and they can do what they want. People are quick to think they are better than someone b/c they do it "this" way and not "that" way.

    ReplyDelete
  30. You go girl for pointing this out! I also can't handle seeing blog posts like that! I look at my blog as my personal journel...if you don't enjoy what I am writing, or how I am writing it don't follow!

  31. this is so AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. and i say this ALLLL the time. why do people care? seriously? why waste your breath. move on. obviously they keep coming back for a reason!

you hit it dead on girl!

  32. I love it... and I agree with you!! I know that my little unknown blog caters to me.. and well if ya don't wanna know about me then oh well... Have a great day Faith!!!

  33. I agree!! If you don't like it.. don't read it! People have a choice..but they act like they are forced to read blogs that they don't agree with!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yay Faith thanks for pointing this out.

  35. I've never had 42 comments on my blog! Your voice is being heard, FAITH!!! Keep blogging & posting like this!
    You are making a difference!!!

  36. I completely agree! I hope you don't take this post down.

  37. Totally agree. Especially about the million pics of your child. I do that more often than I should. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  38. well said. I haven't seen any of these blogs complaining about other blogs, but I agree with you 100%! be nice or go away!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Don't delete this! I think people need to realize that these posts aren't nice and can be a form of bullying. We don't need to bring that negativity into blog land! It's a place to express ourselves, and make amazing friends. Why criticize something that you're not forced to look at?
    LOVE this post!

  40. Yowza!!!! I'm liking this mood you're in. I've tagged you in my last post. Come on by.

  41. I love this, Faith. Especially you're quote...."unfollow & keep it moving!" SO TRUE!

I see so many complaining posts it drives me crazy. The best things about blogs and the connections we make are the POSITIVE people and support we receive...negative nancy's and debbie downers need to zip it!

& just for the record...I LOVE everything about your blog. :)

    Have a happy weekend! xoxo

  42. I totally agree! Its so sad when people put one another down instead of just moving on.

You have a lovely blog! I think you should keep this up. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  43. GREAT point, Faith! You are so right. Sometimes I worry about whether or not I should post something but then I just think "this is MY (actually 'our' :) ) blog...I can post whatever I want. It's MY outlet, no-one elses". I'm proud of you for sharing your opinion and completely agree!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I couldn't agree more!!! I soooo often break the basic "rules" of blogging. I mostly clammer on about the same stuff (me and my love) and I'm not exactly Hemingway when it comes to writing skills...but it's MY blog! If you don't like it...unfollow me! (LOVE that!) :)

    I love following your blog!

  45. Go girl! I love you; you’re so funny- “keep moving” Hahah! It’s so true though- my blog, my post, my errors, whateves.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well, tell us how you REALLY feel! Lol... girl don't you dare delete this! I don't understand why people take things so personally. These blogs are supposed to be fun to read & to write. There are plenty of blogs that I have unfollowed for many reasons, but there's no love lost. I don't need to call anyone out, that's just plain old tacky and unproductive. Every blog isn't meant for every one.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I know what you mean! Why can't we all just get along?? It is sad that so many people feel the need to call out the negative so often.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Love youuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!

I feel the same about all social media! so easy to unfollow/delete/hide folk! quit bitchin!

    ReplyDelete
  49. So well said Faith, I guess that is just too trivial for most.

Blogging is so like HS sometimes, cliques everywhere.

I love you and your blog and so love the fact that you call people out on their s**t. Preach on
