I had already purchased Sean's favorite drink. A bottle of Johnny Walker.
When I got home in the evening, I proceeded to cut out hearts on red and pink paper. I cut out the hearts the way I learned in elementary school and it felt good to have scissors in my hands for something other than coupon clipping.
I got the idea from Jenni @ The Sweet Pea Life and I ran with it. I loved what she did for her husband so I decided to try it as well but with my own twist.
I also gave him clues as to where to find these things. For example: Clue - I make food cold. Obviously fridge, so the bottle of water was in the fridge.
{That was actually the first thing Sean had to find. He went into the fridge stared right at the water bottle with the red heart on it and said, "I can't find it". I said, "Babe, look better". He finally found it. And in my head, I was thinking, Seriously, when do we have red hearts taped on the items in the fridge. How could you not find it? Haha}
I taped the clues on the front door that way as soon as he got home he would know something was up.
Here's pictures of what I did with the hearts
Can't read what it says:
1. Water Bottle - I love that you can see right through me
2. SKOR - I love that I get to SKOR with you
3. Sugar Babies - I can't wait to make sugar babies with you
4. Hot Tamales - Because you're HOT, HOT, HOTT!
5. Nuts - I'm nuts over you
6. Johnny Walker bottle - You're the only one I feel free to get loose with:

{I wasn't sure if I was going to post this one because I didn't/don't want to offend anyone but Sean laughed so hard that I have to share it. Please don't hate me friends! We kind of have a silly thing we do to each other and well, we are different colors. We know this, we embrace it, so I HAD to do it. Like HAD to :)}
7. Animal Crackers - You're my favorite cracker
It was so cheesy and I felt cheesy doing it but the smile he had on his face was priceless. Oh and I make a pretty big breakfast for us on Tuesday and Thursday and so he walks in with breakfast from McDonalds that way I didn't have to make breakfast. It was so funny when he realized what was going on and he says, Awww, sheesh. Maybe I should have gotten you flowers. Haha.
Last night, I took Sean out to our favorite Mexican restaurant for his birthday. We dined on Tequilla wings {seriously the best wings ever!} baja fish tacos, sweet potato fries w/syrup {sounds gross but so good!} chicken quesadilla and pulled jerk chicken sandwich. A lot of food but we were celebrating. Sean also got a huge margarita with sparklers and I got a frozen strawberry margarita.
{Scenes from Last Night}
{He was singing, It's my birthday. With his arms swinging all over the place}
{When we got home, I got out his ice cream cake with candles}
We ended the night watching Change Up because he refused to watch Love & Other Drugs. And well, it's his birthday so we watched Change Up. And Izabella was all up in our grill. Who does she think she is getting between me and my man? Good thing she is cute. ;)
{I had such a great night. You couldn't wipe the smile from my face}
Hope you all had wonderful Valentine Days with your loves as well :)
