Blogging is incredible because you make actual friendships. Friendships that even you can’t understand. But you make them. You get to follow people who you feel have something in common with you, are going through the same experience as you are and etc.
When this person is upset you feel for them even though you’ve never met. You pray for them, you email back and forth to make sure they are OK. This in turn leads into deep conversations which soon turn into a friendship.
Sometimes you are even told a secret that people in their real lives don’t even know about, because they trust that you won’t be able to tell their secret to anyone they actually know.
Blogging is like Match.com but for finding friendships.
Not only are you making friendships but you are following a journey. Their journeys.
When I first started blogging I had just gotten married so I was following newly married women as well. I wanted to see how other new wives were transitioning in their new titles. In November, I’ll be married 3 years so many of these women have been married for the same amount of time, give or take a few years.
I’ve seen these women during their wedding planning, their wedding days, their honeymoons, life after marriage and now babies and it makes me feel like I have been invited into this elite group of women’s lives.
The day I decided that I needed an outlet was one of the best decisions of my life.
I just want to say thank you to every one of you who have welcomed me into their worlds. I thank you for your comments and your encouragement. I thank you for the times that you have taken a moment out of your day to say a prayer for me. I thank you for the laughs that many of you have given me on a daily basis. I thank you for the inspiration. I thank you for the recipes that make Sean think that I am the best cook ever. I thank you for posting the coupon code that allowed me to get something at a deal, because we all know how important it is to get a great item for a steal!
I thank you for just being here. You have made my blogging experience worth much, much more than I ever thought it could possibly be.
And because we all know a post is not complete without a picture, I might as well use one of my wedding pictures as an excuse to share yet another wedding picture.
xoxo.
Blogging IS like match.com! You don't read or follow someone if you share no common interests.
ReplyDeleteI have made some honest fiends through blogging and open you and a couple others in real life...but not at a conference. Just hanging out.
I feel so honored that these women and a couple men share my life with me and I can share theirs with them. Laugh and cry together and we've never actually met in real life. I can't wait for that day!
