Scenes from Christmas Eve

I absolutely love Christmas Eve. It's just that feeling of excitement that something great is about to happen. Sometimes the anticipation is all I need.

On Christmas Eve, we went to an early service at our church. When we got back home we ordered Chinese takeout. This is becoming a new tradition for us. Before I use to make a big dinner on Christmas Eve but this is the second year we've ordered Chinese takeout and I think it's what we'll do from now on. It is so much more relaxing to just sit back and enjoy the day than slaving in the kitchen.

We also watched my favorite Christmas movie, "Love Actually" and drank frozen strawberry margaritas.

We gave our furbabies little gifts.

We exchanged gifts.

Don't think this means that great pictures are going to grace this blog now. I'm just so happy that it's mine :).

And while we're at it, I'll give a little peek of my Christmas day. I'll give my real recap of Christmas tomorrow.

I must say that it is going to be a sad, sad day when I have to put this tree back in the basement. If only I could be one of those people who leave their Christmas decor year round.

I hope that you all had an amazing time celebrating!

  9. I think Christmas Eve is THE most magical night of the year :) I also love that anticipation! I think Chinese takeout sounds like the perfect dinner for Christmas Eve! My family does something sort of similar in that we pick up a bunch of appetizer-type things from our favorite places (shrimp cocktail, buffalo wings, etc). It's so comfy and relaxing!

"Love Actually" is the best Christmas movie EVER.

And OMG!! YOUR CAMERA! How exciting, Faith!!! :)

  16. My Christmas eve was spent driving from DFW back to Louisiana until 3:00AM. It was NOT what I had planned.

Looks like you had an amazing Christmas. And with that camera, you MUST post more and more pics.

My mom would leave her Christmas tree up all year. She'd decorate it for each holiday/season. While I definitely will NOT be doing the same, I will find another use for the white lights thanks to Pinterest.

  24. Love Actually gets me every time. Such an amazing movie! We usually eat out Christmas Eve & then cook a big dinner Christmas Day. We did the opposite this year, but I think the general idea is the same- just do yourself a favor and make one day a bit easier so you can actual enjoy more time with the fam!
