{Recipe} Baked Mac & Cheese

IMG_0778
A few of my readers have requested that I bring recipes back to this blog. And well, what the people want, the people get ;). I figured that I would bring the recipes back with a bang. Because really, is there a better bang than mac & cheese. It wasn't a question.

Ingredients:
IMG_0687
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (not pictured)
2 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 package elbow macaroni
2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (to be honest I use more like 3 cups)
2 slices of Provolone cheese, cut into strips

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Saute onion for 3 minutes.
3. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
4. Stir in milk, salt and pepper; cook, stirring frequently, until mixture boils and thickens.
5. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook for 8 to 10 minutes; drain.
6. To the milk mixture add the Cheddar and Provolone cheeses; stir until cheese melts. Combine macaroni and cheese sauce and then pour in a baking dish.
7. Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.

8. Stuff your face until you can't breathe. At least that's what I did.

  2. OMG!!! Faith you are killing me. I have a weakness for anything Pasta - especially when it is swimming in creamy cheese!! I die. After I lose the 15 lbs that seems to have attached itself to my middle, I will be rewarding myself with a big ol helping of this!!!
