Adrienne asked: What's your go to item of clothing? Your MUST HAVE, 'always feel pretty even though you are feeling bleh' clothing?
Katie asked: My question is (of course related to clothing) where are your favorite places to shop?
Tenecia asked: I just want to see a picture of your closet because in my mind it looks like a combo of H & M, Target, Express, and Forever 21 :)
*** I’ve gotten many questions regarding my wardrobe. In fact, the questions above were a few that I received from this post, in regards to my wardrobe. I know, y’all thought I had forgotten about it. But I assure you that I haven’t. I’ll finish soon enough, I promise.
I haven’t really made a post about my wardrobe so I figured today was as good as any.
First I’ll answer the questions above:
1. My go to outfit is a flowy (I’m being told this is not a word?) top, skinny jeans and a stiletto. I think no matter the day, I feel great in this outfit.
2. My favorite places to shop are Old Navy, Express, Forever 21 (duh), Target and H&M. You will often see in my outfit posts that most of my clothing come from these stores.
For shoes I really love Steve Madden and Zaras. Every once in a while I’ll find shoes from Target that I really like as well.
In my younger days, I was very concerned with name brands, etc. I just had to have them. It did not matter if I was dropping $150 on a pair of jeans. The name sold me.
Thank goodness, I’ve grown since then. I am what some might call trendy. I love trends and I’m not afraid to admit it. I don’t try every trend because some just don’t work for me. So dropping $150 on a pair of jeans that I might not wear again in a few months/year is just not practical to me. I’ll rather spend that on going out to dinner or traveling.
That doesn’t mean that I don’t splurge every once in a while because I certainly do. There are just some things that are worth the extra dollars. And it’s up to the individual to decide what is worth the extra and what isn’t.
But there are things that one must look out for when shopping at stores like Forever 21, etc. Go into the stores. Touch the items. See how they are made. If you already see a stich coming loose, that’s a sign for you to put the item away. You’ll be surprised that many times you can walk out with something that looks so much more than you actually spent. Just because you’re spending less, doesn’t mean that the item needs to look less.
You also have to care for your items a little differently. I wash all my clothes in cold water and I never dry in the dryer (except for my gym attire). All my clothes are hung up to dry. Due to this, many of my inexpensive clothing have lasted a long time.
At the end of the day, wear what makes you feel good. If you feel good, most likely you look good. Well, as long as you’re not squeezing your size 12 behind into a size 4. You know I’m right. Summer is coming so all of our eyes are going to hurt very soon. But at least it will be warm.
Happy Wednesday or Happy Shopping! I’ll take the latter but I’m banned for the rest of the month. No, Sean didn’t ban me, I banned myelf. Best thing is that the end of the month is in 6 days, ha. Best ban ever.

I love seeing people who have FABULOUS wardrobe from affordable place. I (no-so-secretly) stalk your Instagram for your photos. :)
ReplyDeleteI recently became obsessed with polka dots and I couldn't quite figure out why. And now it makes sense... ;). I seriously love your style! Thanks for all the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteYou're going to think that this is silly Faith but I honestly believe that you're inspirational in your style. I just think that every outfit you wear is so stylish, it's honestly awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou know I always love your outfits!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love any friend who can quote the great Carrie Bradshaw (o:
ReplyDeleteI've told you once and I'll tell you again - you are SO my fashion icon. I always love your outfits and your tips for style. (o:
YOu are always looking fabulous!! I feel the same way when it comes to my closet! i love mixing highend and low end! the best feeling is when i look like a million dollars without having to spend it!! i hear H&m jeans are fabulous by the way!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day pretty girl!
I love your flowy style! No drying of any clothes? Wow. That is dedication. The only thing I don't put in the dryer are sweaters and work pants. I'm also the type that won't iron so.....Yeah. I'm re discovering F21 again because of other bloggers like you. It's usually so overwhelming to go in there b/c they are HUGE!! I love the prices though.
ReplyDelete"Summer is coming so all of our eyes are going to hurt very soon." --> priceless!
ReplyDeleteT.
You have thee best shoe collection! I have a wide foot and often can't find wide width shoes but I am a shoenista!
ReplyDeleteI love your wardrobe and I definitely love the way you look in your wardrobe. Not afraid to mix it up - but still very clean and put together! F21 is the bomb, huh?!??!?!
ReplyDeleteI love ever outfit you wear. Every.single.one.
ReplyDeleteYou can move to Cali and be my personal stylist everyday. I'll pay you in gift cards :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, I absolutely love the title of this post...amazing. And wow, I can't believe you do not dryer dry anything. Where do you hang dry everything? I bet that helps clothes so much!
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute and do trendy very well! I need to start air drying some of my clothes because I just pulled a former dress out of the dryer and it's officially a tunic -- after one wear. :(
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree w/you more on spending more on "brands" in my youth! Now all I care is that it's cheap and chic lol
ReplyDeleteAlso - I totally agree w/you on the washing clothing in cold water and hanging to dry - any other way is so hard on your clothing.
I'm the same way, I don't put anything in the dryer except for like my underwear and towels. I noticed a lot of my sweaters and nice shirts kept shrinking to toddler size when I put them in the dryer.
ReplyDeleteI too am a huge fan of Old Navy & Kohls, anything decent priced, that I can get rid of after a season of wear, because I tend to go after trendy and fad items too.
Love how you pair things so seamlessly! You always look very well put together.
ReplyDeletei desperately need to go on a shopping trip...haven't really purchased anything since parker was born!
ReplyDeleteForever 21 is one of my favorite stores, too! Your outfits always look super stylish and trendy.
ReplyDeleteYou always have the cutest outfits and I really appreciate how you work with trendy items and classic pieces at affordable prices! Helps this boring outfit girl find motivation...haha!
ReplyDeleteLove the leopard flats, so fun!
you have such great style lady.
ReplyDeleteand lovin the polka dots.
K
Your fashion sense is BAWSE dear! I love it, very inspirational especially from a girl who has tons of clothes but not a clue on how to put them together fashionably. :) Leave it to me and I'd wear the same color of everything with no patterns or accessories LOL the horror.
ReplyDeleteI used to buy the most expesive baby phat and guess jeans. WHAT was I thinking?!!! ugh.
You can find some real treasures at F21, just gotta look for them! And I love their cheapie jewelry selection!
ReplyDeletehaha you are too funny faith your shopping ban is 6 days you are too awesome
ReplyDeleteI just got a similar polka dot sweater from old navy and I love it! So comfy and cute!
ReplyDeleteGreat post and cute outfits! I admit my wardrobe is lacking. For some reason I don't mind wearing the same things I've owned for at least six year. I suppose all my extra cash goes to little man and crafts supplies :)
ReplyDeletePolka dots, polka dots, polka dots...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE YOU!
:)
This is such a great post and so true!!!!!!!
Lately I've only stuck with accessories from Forever 21 due to the "cheaply made items", but they do have great quality items too! Just have to touch, feel, wear to see. :D
I've been dying to head there for some maxi dresses :D
Loving your wardrobe, every time!
Love that quote...ahhh I miss SATC! I think the best part about shopping are finding awesome deals!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so true, you can look like a million bucks even on an H&M and Forever 21 budget. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comment on my last post Faith - you are such a kind person :)
ReplyDeleteYou made some wonderful points regarding price points, quality and name brands vs. trendy pieces xo
I just found your blog, so glad that I did! I love your views on fashion. I shop at target, h&m + forever 21 as well. They are the best. Flow top plus skinny jeans will be the best combo, forever <3 :)
ReplyDeleteI don't hang dry everything, just the pieces I know need it. Especially if they're not out of cotton.
ReplyDeleteAnd you crack me up. Love it!
I absolutely love your style. I don't know how many times, I have to beg you to come and go shopping with me! :)
ReplyDeleteI always love your shoes! :)
ReplyDeleteThat gold necklace is amazing. So are the polka dot heels. And pretty much everything!!! :) You are always beautiful and vibrant!!
