Sean's birthday, our Valentine's Day, our 7th dating anniversary did not go as I planned. I had plans to have an early lunch at The Market Grill at Pike Place Market and then was going to take a taxi to Fremont Street because a friendly waiter recommended it to me saying that it was a little like San Francisco. I've never been to San Francisco although I really would love to, so I was excited to check it out.
I also had two outfits picked out for Sean's birthday celebration and was going to have Sean pick his favorite of the two for me to wear out that night.
Sean left for work at 7am. I kissed him and wished him a happy birthday and a great day (feeling good I should add!) and then an hour later I was so sick. I'll leave out all the gruesome details but I hate being sick and staying in bed all day especially when I'm visiting a new to me city.
I could not eat or function so I slept a lot that day.
When I heard Sean come in at 5 pm I looked over and in both of his hands were tons of bags. He came carrying bags of food. I wanted to take pictures of all of it to document (ah, the life of a blogger) but after a couple I just didn't feel like it. He brought chicken lettuce wraps, chicken, beef and shrimp teriyaki, Hagen Daz Dulce de Leche, Vitamin Waters and of course good ole Jack Daniels. If he was to be stuck in a hotel room on his birthday it might as well be with me and Jack. Although I appreciated the generous gesture I was unable to really eat which bummed me out since I really hate wasting food! Throwing out the ice cream the next day before we headed to the airport made me sad. I seriously contemplated eating it all but Sean suggested that I not do that and have a proper breakfast. Boo to his common sense!
I definitely owe him a birthday celebration that's for sure. I think I'll make him a birthday cake.
But I know that all he wants for his birthday is a big ... just kidding.
He already has that, minus the ... oh just forget I mentioned anything ;).

Although that day did not go as planned I was pretty content.
Content to be in bed (looking a hot mess I should add), watching TV, attempting to eat and being taken care of by my favorite person in the world.
Oh and the next day I was feeling like my old self again, like nothing even happened. But of course since we were leaving that day.
But to be honest, I am glad I got sick the day before and not the day we were traveling back home.
Seattle to PA is not a short trip.

That Jack is a great friend. He always knows when to show up. I'm glad you feel better! Wasting Ice cream would've made me sad too. But I'm happy u didn't have to travel cross country feeling sick.
ReplyDeleteSorry you weren't feeling well. :( I saw your post on IG and I was so bummed for ya. Sean is a trooper though! Please wish him a happy belated birthday!!
ReplyDeleteUGH sick on vacation, on valentines, on an anniversary, on his birthday?!?! That's really unfair ! However, I'm glad you are doing much better. I'm sure you two will do it up right this weekend to go celebrate <3
ReplyDeleteOhhhh no!!! I'm so sorry. That does not sounds like fun at all. Glad it was a 24-hour thing :)
ReplyDeleteNo worries, Derek actually had off Valentine's Day and volunteered to pick up an extra shift. SO, it was just me, Charlie, and Brutus Valentine's Day evening :)
Ahahahahahaha! You are hilarious...All he wants for his birthday is a Big Booty (shut yo mouth). I'm glad you are feeling better. You need to be a comedy writer....food for thought ;)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you got sick on vacation/sean's bday/valentine's day! That's THE worst!!
ReplyDeleteLoved all your IG photos of Seattle! I would love to go there someday!
Glad you felt better right away and how sucky to get a 24hr bug. I'd love to make it out to Seattle one day.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear but its good to know you are back on your feet. I'm sure you will do something special for Sean.
ReplyDeleteoh goodness. I'm so sorry you went through all that just to be sick. Sean is a good man for hanging in there and taking care of you.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy that you got so sick out of the blue and just as fast it was gone. That's a good thing!! Sean is very sweet. Sorry the plans fell through.

ReplyDeleteSorry you weren't feeling well.
ReplyDeleteYou are totally not a lame valentine, I would say you celebrated in a low key manner this year.
You can go all out for his next Bday celebration
Such a bummer that you weren't feeling well on the last day of your trip.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better!
I wonder why you got sick so suddenly? Food poisoning? I'm sorry you got sick but glad it went away so quickly! I'm sure you will make up Sean's bday just fine : )
ReplyDeleteLOL! It was just M's birthday and he jokingly sang that exact 2Chainz lyric (he loves his songs for some reason, don't ask!) Sorry to hear of your feeling under the weather but so glad you were better by the time you had to travel (that would have been SO much more miserable!)

i'm glad you're feeling better, but sorry you were sick! he is a sweetie to take care of you!!
ReplyDeleteAw man, being sick is awful! But you are right, better that it happened the day BEFORE travel than the day of. Yikes, traveling while sick would be terrible. So sweet of him to bring you that food though! I'm glad you recovered quickly. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you weren't feeling well Faith. Getting sick (especially throwing up) is the absolute worst thing ever. And there is not much you can do to help it...which is the sucky part. Glad to know that the hubs took good care of you! Hope you're all better now girl:)!
ReplyDeleteDude! I thought I was the only one who got like majorly sick when there's a big event happening!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that your plans had to be cast aside but Sean is such a sweetie for still trying to make that day memorable. And yep, you got to spend it with your favorite person.
I LOVE the depth of field in that first photo!
xo
aww...sorry you weren't feeling well. I am sure you will make it up to him!! i love that his bday is Valentine's Day...double celebration time!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sad you weren't feeling well. :( But like you said, better that day than a traveling day! You can always celebrate later. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Sean!! I hate that you got sick Faith! I was sick a couple of weeks ago and it was not fun!
ReplyDeleteUgh...why is it that we always get sick at the worst times?
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Sean, though! Sounds like you two still found a happy way to celebrate! :)
Glad you got over that bout of sickness by the time you had to travel home, too! Gah...traveling while being sick? AWFUL.
