Summer you were good while you lasted

IMG_7936

And just like that, summer is over and my favorite season is officially here. But before I emerge in all things fall, I have a few pictures from this summer that I'd like to drop here for memory sake.

I use to absolutely dislike summer. I could not stand the heat and the way the humidity made my skin feel. Add on all the bugs that come out of hiding and I was counting the summer days away. Don't get me wrong, I still am not its biggest fan but as I've gotten older an appreciation for summer has arrived and I'm glad that nowadays I'm enjoying the summer days vs. wishing them away.

- Visits to my favorite winery in the summer (and fall) are a must. I try to get to this winery at least once per year. I always have the greatest time and get to stock up on a few of my favorites.

"Everyone's just more attractive after wine. Natural smiles, loose body language, more willing to laugh. I say drink up."

We ended our winery trip with a stop at one of our favorite restaurants, Carmel Kitchen, for a flatbread, fried calamari and a couple of drinks.

- Day dates are not overrated. I enjoy any time spent with Sean. He is seriously my favorite. On this particular day we decided that instead of dinner we go out for brunch. That fun day ended with an early trip to the casino and we walked out $200 richer. #Score!

- At Cintha's sangria fest, (at least that is what we called it, ha) we began talking about our favorite month/season. For me, it is 100% October. October means: the real start of fall, pumpkin picking, pumpkin scented candles, Halloween, foliage, layering of outfits complete with denim jackets, scarves, knee high boots and of course my birthday (the 13th)!

What about you? What’s your favorite month/season? I've noticed that most people respond that their favorite month or season is when they were actually born. I wonder if this is a coincidence? Happy Fall Y'all!! ♥

  2. Your summer was filled with so many amazing things and memories made! Your winery trip is basically my idea of heaven. And day dates for the win, every single time.
When I lived in the Midwest, fall was easily my favorite season. September and October were gorgeous, cool, and harvest was a big deal. Here, September and October are INSANELY hot. I actually love winters in California because we often get a break from the sun, and the temps feel more like fall.
