Oh how the taste buds have changed....

I guess what they say is true. When you get older your taste for food changes. I learned that today.

When I was younger, I stayed away from Baby Ruth's and Mr. Goodbars. I found them to be rather nasty.

Today, one of our vendors brought in a bunch of bite size chocolate bars. They were all wrapped in Easter colors, which made me a bit surprised that Easter candy is already out on the shelves.

Moving on, my co-worker was munching on Baby Ruth's and Mr. Goodbars and mentioned how delicious they were.

I became curious, got up and picked up two. I unwrapped the Baby Ruth first and popped it in my mouth. I chewed slowly, just in case I needed to spit it out all of a sudden. To my surprise, I swallowed and enjoyed the nutty and caramel flavors. Yummy!

I then unwrapped the Mr. Goodbar and popped it in my mouth. Again, I chewed slowly, just in case, and to my surprise I swallowed and enjoyed the crunchy nutty and chocolately flavor. Yummy!

I wonder what else I am missing out on.

Maybe I should try brussel sprouts again.

  3. I've never liked Baby Ruths. One thing I used to HATE as a child was potato salad, but I've been able to eat it with no problem over the past couple years. Just keep in mind we're not getting old, we're getter BETTER!

  4. Why do brussel sprouts always get such a bad rap? I think they're good! But I prefer chocolate of course!

  5. I've never been a chocolate person...I remember loving Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory as a kid, and I'd watch the movie and see all the gorgeous chocolate and get an intense craving for it. Then I'd grab some, and realize that, oh right, I hate chocolate. I'm hoping one day maybe I develop a taste for it too. Though my butt probably doesn't need a newly acquired taste for sweets, ha!

  7. Faith,

My taste buds changed a lot after I had children. Despite this, I still don't like either of those candy bars. Now, Brussels sprouts, I've always loved them and still do. Try oven roasting them w/olive oil, salt, and pepper; delicious!

  11. I haven't had a Baby Ruth in ages- never was a fan of them, but you're right, maybe it's the best thing out there :) As a kid I loved butterfingers but now can't stand them; Musketeers are my favorite right now. But asparagus- Um still don't think I'm "adult" enough to give them a try!

  12. Lol! Yeah I don't know if brussel sprouts will taste any better for you! Certain foods just are bad...like beets! Never will I try beets again! My grandfather used to eat Baby Ruths al the time when I was younger but I never tried one until I was an adult. I like them too! Very yummy! As are most chocolates! :)
