My thoughts on Blogging

Firstly, thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart. Your comments brought tears to my eyes, literally. It is amazing how you can feel so much love through people you have never met. I truly wish that I could meet every single one of you. I consider you friends and just was beyond myself with how amazing you all made me feel.

A few of you even advised that you have gone through the same thing and it gave me an added sense of peace that truly everything is going to be just fine.

OK, so I want to tell you how I felt during my break from blogging, I felt great. It was still habit to log on but I didn’t feel pressured to do anything. If I wanted to I could read your blogs and I didn’t feel that I had to make my presence known. I almost felt like a little spy, a little spy reading your blog and you not knowing. That feels good. Hmm, I sound like a little creeper, don’t I? But you should try it, it does feel good.

Since the break was going so well, I was almost nervous that I wouldn’t want to go back to blogging again. So I decided to look at my old blog posts and seriously it was such an eye opener. I’ve been blogging since January 2010. I’ve basically seen a timeline of my life for the last two years. That is so incredible to me. Things that I would have easily forgotten have been saved because of this blog.

So I decided that unless there is another form of blogging in the future, I won’t give this up. The memories that have been recorded on this blog are priceless and I couldn’t have it anyway.

Would I take a break again? Probably. Everyone needs to be reminded of a good thing.

Will I ever stop blogging? Probably not. This blogging thing is a part of me.

I’m excited to be back. I no longer feel this pressure. I feel free. I feel like I can take on this blogging on my own time, my own pace, damn the guilt. I got rid of him.

And since I know that you all would like to know what I did on my break, {insert sarcasm here} I made sure to take a few pictures that way those memories can still be recorded on this blog. You’re welcome.

  1. Glad you're back but that you enjoyed your break! Sometimes it's much needed!

I would have forgotten a lot of stuff L did this past year if I didn't blog. It's a great way to keep track of everything

  4. I can totally relate to how you feel on taking a break from blogging. Sometimes you just gotta unplug. I think its okay to do that. I've unplugged from Blogger, Twitter and FB a couple times. It's refreshing :) I also have felt like a lil' creeper hahha...not blogging, but signing on and reading all your favorite blogs.

I sooo wish I could meet ALL of my favorite bloggers too!! We should totally coordinate an annual blogger meetup :)

  6. I feel a little selfish when writing this comment Faith because it's not really an impartial one. I won't lie that I'm curious, curious to read more and more about you and Sean like when you guys think about having children and stuff so I'm really glad that you're staying. Blogging does work really well as a form of recording a timeline of your life, it's incredibly useful.

  10. Faith: i'm glad you enjoyed your break and, more so, that you will continue blogging. i'll be here waiting for updates from you. it's such a pleasure following you, truly. :)

  11. Glad you will keep blogging. Obviously, no one is going to forget about you if you don't post 5x per week! We love your blog. I think that's the thing. Pace yourself. There are times I have more to say then other times. When the well runs dry I'll sit on posts and put something up about once a week. That way I don't feel burdened to come up with something new to post. I also had to stop commenting on every single post from every blogger. It's just not possible!! Welcome back.

  12. That's the way I look at blogging too! I'm so glad you're sticking around. :)

  13. Glad you're back, Faith... I had a feeling you would be. ;P

I've had to make serious adjustments to my blogging routine, too. I now only read the blogs I truly enjoy, but don't feel pressure to comment all the time. I comment when I feel led or have time to, and often I catch up on people's blogs all at once if I haven't been by in a few weeks. You just do what you can do, and don't feel too much pressure about it. Blogging is a part of me, too... I totally feel you on that! The memories you record are priceless.

Have a great weekend, beautiful. :)

  15. So glad you enjoyed your break and came back with a refreshed blogger attitude.

I think that is the important thing, not to get wrapped up in it all and just do it because you enjoy it.

  27. I am soo happy to have you posting again! I feel very, very similarly about blogging. It can really get overwhelming at times, but ultimately I love having a record of my life- especially those little things that I would have surely forgotten!

  28. So glad you stopped by my blog because it led me to yours. I too, had to step away from blogging for a bit because it was too much at one point. I didn't want to add any unneccessary stress to my already hectic schedule. But, like you, I realized I love my blog as a timeline of my life. So now, I blog when I can and I don't feel bad if I don't check in everyday. I am looking forward to following your little timeline too!
