Taking the Plunge ... Or Whatever This Is

So I am going to do it.

I have gotten several requests to post the outfits I wear.

Really? Me? Yeah, I was surprised too.

I have gone back and forth on it because I am not one of those exciting fashion bloggers I follow or that most of you follow. I am just a regular gal, with a normal budget and no fancy camera to highlight my outfit. But after thinking hardcore about it and getting that final big push from my girlfriends Nini and Nancy, I am going to try and see how I like it. I enjoy fashion and I enjoy putting an outfit together so this should be fun…..

When it comes to my style, I am not exactly sure what my style is. Mostly I buy what I like. I know my body shape well and know right away what would look good on me and what wouldn't. I like getting great items on sale. But I also enjoy shopping at Forever 21. I try not to spend an extraordinary amount of money on clothes.

I think I should warn you that I will most likely be taking these pictures in my house where the lighting is horrible. I have no one who would actually enjoy taking pictures of me outside by red barns and gorgeous hills; unless of course, my sisters come for a visit. And even then it will be super amateur but don't tell them I said that.

I didn't even bother to ask Sean because I know what the answer would be. “I am not your personal photographer”. Maybe one day he will see the importance of pictures for a blogger, but until then, we will have to suffer with my pictures with the horrible lighting. I apologize first hand.

And with this new thing comes something I should have done a long time ago. I’ll post where I got each item! {Unless of course I have forgotten where I purchased something} I should have done that a long time ago because it would have avoided tons of the emails I have received over the years. But better late than never, right?

I know that you all are following me, not because I am a fashion queen, so I am curious to know what you think. Most of my blog material will stay the same because this blog is about Sean's and my life but nothing wrong with switching things up, right?

Right.

Oh, you didn't say right.

Awkward.

  3. If I lived closer I would totally come take pictures of you standing next to a red barn with some outfits and heels on :) lol

I love this idea. I have no fashion sense so I'd love to see where you get your stuff and get some inspiration for myself.

  8. I think it'll be a good perspective. All the more reason for you to do it!!! Even when I actually have a cute outfit on that I like I rarely ever even take a full body shot for the blog.

  9. Whatever fashion sense you have it is all your own and you don't have to be a self-proclaimed fashion guru. :) It's just nice to see other people's personal style so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your outfits.

  10. Faith, this is your blog which we're all following because of how awesome you and Sean are so I don't think it would matter what you post about. I reckon that you would pull off fashion posts so well so take the plunge, I'm sure the posts will be great.

  17. Yay! Yay! Yay! I know you've been wanting to do this for some time so I'm so excited that your going to do it. I look forward to your outfits! I need to post more about Josh and myself but I feel like I'm always behind with outfit sharing. I'm interested to see how you balance it all out. Advice: from me...you may find yourself shopping a bit more but stop yourself. Share what you already have. People love to see restyles/remixes of outfits you've posted in the past. I cannot wait.

  18. I really enjoy looking at fashion posts (along with writing so you actually get to know the person behind the blog). I enjoy looking at all kinds of blogs, there is so much creativity out there!

As for the photographer issue, maybe if you're out and about with friends you could ask them to snap a pic or two for your blog? If they're readers I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping out once and awhile.

now let's see some outfit posts!!

  20. I think sharing personal style is just a really easy way of sharing your personality - it comes through visually so easily. I would say try to take your camera outdoors, even if you're doing self timers. The lighting outside is just so much better! But you can figure things out for indoor too. Above all, just get creative and have fun with it!

i love seeing what other ladies are wearing... especially those on a budget, because it inspires me. and i feel like it helps you define your style a little more... give it a try, i think you'll like it!

ps. i thought i was following... but realized im not. so i am now. :)

  26. Yay! I am so excited! I LOVE your style. PS thank you so much for your help a few weekends ago! I LOVE everything I got. I am trying to space things out but it's tough. I wore my silverfish gray shirt from target and my new black pants from H&M today. Tomorrow I think I am going to wear that navy and coral dress! I'm a little nervous about the mint green dress from H&M. Haven't worn it yet....
