First Day of Summer ♥

Last week, I just did not have the energy to blog. Lately, I've been getting home around 6:30 so by the time I'm settled the last thing I want to do is sit behind the computer and write up a blog post. Mostly because my brain is blank. It's like after work I would rather not think and it's affecting my special blog time. I hate just being silent on here though so while I'm relaxing on the couch until bedtime I'm wishing I could blog something; anything. But honestly it would be a rather crappy post and that's no fun for me or you. I'm hoping that this phase passes very quickly and that I figure out a way to be home before 6:30 that way silence is not a common factor in these parts. Or I'm hoping that I begin to miss blogging so much, that sitting behind the computer when I get home is not completely dreaded. Whichever comes first.

On Saturday, Lisa and I took a little road trip to a flea market/farmer's market in Quakertown, PA. I didn't really need anything but I always love to see what people consider is worth something. You know the saying, someone's junk is someone else's treasure. I find that to be true at flea markets.

I actually had a really good time. There is an indoor section (I did not take any pictures) that has a whole bunch of little stores. Selling food, fruits, homemade candies, every day necessities at really good deals. I stocked up on some items because the prices were so good.

I like farmer's markets that are outdoors so this one did not appeal to me much (again no pictures, completely slacking over here!) but it was still neat to walk around and check it out. I'm thinking that the farmer's market in Seattle spoiled me and now nothing will compare. There's another one that is actually closer to where we live so crossing fingers that, that's a good one.

After the flea/farmer's market we had lunch at Roosevelt's. I've gone several times but it was Lisa's first time.

  2. But the photos that you did take were completely awesome sauce!

I've only been to a flea market once in my life and that was in West Palm Beach. It was pretty cool. I got to negotiate on a dress I really really wanted and talked the guy down by half. Get this, I was 17. Started from the bottom haha!

    Gawd that salad looks...YUM!

  8. Happy Summer Solstice Faith:)! I think a farmer's market is a great way to kick off summer! I haven't been to one in AGES! About the blogging, you'll get your groove back....I wouldn't sweat it girl! It's tough juggling a job, relationship, blog, and who knows what else, so be kind to yourself. :)

  9. My husband lives by the saying "One man's junk is another man's treasure" He is constantly buying things that I totally don't understand!

That chef salad looks so good. It's my favorite summer salad too :)

  11. I know the feeling of coming home after work... I work 3rd shift so as soon as I unlock my front door, I'm headed straight to bed.

This flea market looks amazing! We don't have nice outdoor flea markets like that here in Columbus, OH.

& the food is making me hungry!! :)

  12. I was just talking with someone about how I wanted to get all those old Sumfs drinking glasses and there they are, all the way in PA. HA!

The food looks so good. so good!

We have some pretty stellar outdoor markets here. I really like that on campus just right outside my office is a really good one. It doesn't start until July, but I sure am counting down the days!

  14. Fun!! That food looks amazing. Hope you can find your groove with blogging again. Workdays are just really rough. There really isn't a lot of time after work for much of anything and it's a real bummer.

  16. So I caved and updated my blog (sing you nagged me ;) ), and then I click over to your blog to read your latest post, only to realize we are more or less saying the same thing about lack of content to share, because we work a 9-5 and much of the week is the same. *smh*

I personally think updating like once a week is fine at this point in time.

I've never been to a traditional flea market, but I assume it's a lot like going to thrift stores and garage sales? I'm not so good at picking things out that have potential to look awesome in my house either. Plus I don't DIY, because my brain doesn't think "oh that'll look better spray painted gold". I just usually see it for what it is.

I like going to Farmers markets occasionally. Usually if I go I'm just wanting farm fresh tomatoes since they taste so much better then the grocery stores.

I loved all the pictures and your lunch looks so delicious!

  17. I totally understand the blog ruts! It's so crazy because sometimes I can blog daily and enjoy it and other times I draw a blank. Anyways, I love when you post because you always have the greatest adventures and pictures! That strawberry belini looks so refreshing by the way!

  18. Looks like you had such a fun weekend! I want to go to a local farmers market sometime soon. It's been on my list of things to do for awhile, but life has just been so busy lately!

  19. Ahhh, Quakertown!! We are only 45 minutes from there!! Steve and I have been the flea markets there...but it was years and years ago! I love your pictures! It's so much fun because you never know what you'll find!
Your drinks and salads look so refreshing!
Hope you feel more relaxed when coming home! A blog break is always nice now and then. <3
    Sending love xoxo

  21. I love going to flea markets. I never find anything I want badly enough to buy though. I just like looking at the stuff on display.
Although, that yellow chevron dress is oh so cute!

Loving your hair and loving the food pictures. For a second there, I noticed the water shot and was thinking "oooohhh....hmmmm". Then I scrolled down and saw the bellini. Oh well...a girl can hope right? :-).

Here's to an awesome summer. I am taking longer periods between blog posts cause I can't seem to find time to blog. I have like 12-drafts that I just don't have time to type up and finish. Oh well...at some point, I'll get back into it. Take your time!

  23. I wish I had a desire to blog ever! I do miss it, but every time I sit down to blog I feel as though I have nothing worthwhile to write about. Very frustrating! What kind of salad is that? The summer one. That flea market looks fun, I love looking around at those! Happy Friday!
