Truth: Some Days I DO Want To Choke Him

I got an email a few weeks ago asking me about whether hubby and I put our dukes up have disagreements. Uhm, yeah, of course we do! I mean, we are two individuals with different personalities, opinions and that is perfectly fine with me. Most of the time.

I guess I got this email because I don't exactly talk about our disagreements. My blog isn't for that reason.

I'm not gonna lie, once I did write a blog about how pissed off I was at Sean but I decided not to post it, because I never want Sean to be seen in anything but radiant light. He is amazing all 99.99% of the time so why should I ever portray him differently. Although, just to point out that some days I would like to make him see things my way, I would share the post I never posted.

Reason: Because I'm not mad at him anymore and to be honest it is kinda funny. I also liked the fact that although I was pissed, I knew I wouldn't be pissed off for long. If that is not love, I don't know what is.

Here is the post written on 11/24/2010 at 8:27pm:

98% of the time I truly dig my husband {you all know this, i write about it a lot on this blog}... it is only 2% of the time that I want to choke him. Not enough to kill him but enough to let him know I mean business.

I know that my husband digs me 99% of the time, because I know I only annoy him 1% of the time. I'm good like that.

Today, he made me I yelled. I don't like to yell. I don't even like to argue because I'm always right. What's the point of arguing if you're right anyway?

When I yell, I sound like another person. I sometimes feel it is another person because my natural voice can't get that high. Another person called Angry goes inside me and takes control of my body. I can't get her to leave my body until the hubs realizes he is wrong and apologizes.

Until then, my voice is abnormally loud. I don't like it. My cat doesn't like it. And my husband for sure doesn't like it.

I told him Angry would leave forever if he wouldn't piss me off.

Tomorrow, we will laugh about it. I would realize that it was something so small that even I would be surprised I raised my voice. But for now, I'm gonna choke him if he says another annoying thing.

I wish I had someone to take a picture of us right now. It might make you giggle but since I only have pictures of happy times, here goes:

I will only stay annoyed for another hour because I can't go to bed angry at him. Go figure. I love this man even though I really DO want to choke him right now.

Looking at it now, it really wasn't that horrible of a post and to be honest, I can't even recollect what I was mad about. So there you have it! Why post something negative about your husband for the whole world to read, when in a few months you won't even remember what you were mad about? Something to think about.

  1. I do get you so well :).

There are the 1% of the times that I want to choke hubby too, but I love him too much that I can't kill him because then I will miss him till I die to meet him again, LOL. Even when we argue he has a sweet smile that I can't stay cross with him for too long, so I get the fact that writing a post about it would not be appropriate.

  2. It's only natural & it's fun to make up anyway!!! HA!
You are being honest & I feel exactly what you mean. My hubby & I got married in 1998 & there have been many a times that we've HAD IT OUT, but through it all, it only makes us stronger. :)
We love them more than air, but could choke them sometimes. They can't live without us though :)

  4. i couldn't agree more...it's a lot harder to retract something once its posted on the internet.

  5. Tom and I have been together since highschool and will be married 30 years in December. We have had our share of disagreements over the years but like you I don't publish things like that. I wouldn't want anyone to form the wrong impression of him just because I was in a bad mood.

  6. i also agree with you. isn't that funny how you are so mad about something and then can't even remember months later. i'm glad you two are so perfect for each other and make it work very well each day. kudos lady.

  7. I feel the same way! I feel like sometimes people might think I'm always happy but I am so not! I just don't feel like the very public internet is the forum for negativity. That said, your "angry" post is super cute and like you said not even that bad! It's kind of funny actually! My husband and I sometimes laugh at our fights later or can't remember what they were about like you too! Anyways...this is a long rambling comment to say I'm right there with ya!

  8. It's so funny how the people we love the most can make us so upset sometimes but in the end we just love them too much to stay angry. All couples have fights, even big blow outs that end up being about nothing! lol. It's natural but you don't have to post about it if you don't want to. This is your blog! Besides, I'd much prefer to see a happy Faith and Sean than a sad Faith and Sean! :)

  9. that is so true... i feel that way too like 10% of the time. i learned how to argue since i started dating my hub. i always avoided having arguments with anyone before, but i realized if i wanted to survive being together with him, i have to raise my voice once in a while... :) i don't like it, but sometimes it solves the problem.

  10. haha... so true was this post! Matt and I have the funniest of tiffs and mainly for the same reason.. I'm right... he needs to aknowledge. lol Glad to know you two go through the same thing. :)

  11. big or small, arguments in the end don't matter at all because the love between you and him is so much bigger! thanks for sharing and keeping it real as always:-)

  12. I agree with everything you said in the beginning! I would like to, but I don't want it to seem harsh because of an in the moment thing. That's what my mom and my diary are for. :-) My mom is my hubby's 2nd biggest fan, lol so she always helps me see it from his side....

PS: I love smores, but instead I started drinking chocolate Boost. I know protein helps turn fat into muscle (with exercise), plus I love chocolate so it curbs that need chocolate candy and cookies, never ice cream though. ;-)

  13. I would hope that people know that the good comes with some bad attached. Of course we all have disagreements, its nothing to be ashamed of. But like you, I dont put that stuff all over my blog. But I also counteract that by not getting too lovey dovey on there either because you can make people think its all peaches and cream.

  14. Girl I totally get it. Sometimes men just make me want to scream! Haha, but then I realize that it is a silly thing to be mad about. But I stay mad until we talk it over haha.

  15. I guess it's a blessing that he only make you mad for such a small percentage of your time. I would have to say the same thing about my husband. And the lovely thing is neither of us can stay mad for long, even when we want to!

  16. I love this post and I promise you it sounds like something I could have written--minus Sean's name of course :). I totally get it.

  17. love. love. love. this post. LOVE it. I can SO relate. being a married person, sometimes I feel like I want to kill my husband, and then I want to blog about it, and then after the fact, I'm over it and the argument is not funny so I cant blog again it ha!

love your dynamic in your marriage btw. Seems like you guys are doing JUST fine :)

  19. good point!

it's kinda refreshing to know that even you two fight once in a while! You always seem so happy :)

  20. This is great! haha... I can definitely relate to this post. I found myself yelling at my husband in that really-not-my-normal-voice tone the other day. It was the first time that happened during an argument and I THINK it may have had something to do with my preggo hormonal changes. Just maybe. lol. Anyway, even when I'm angry with him, I always know i'll get over it and I still love him despite the fact that he makes me wanna pull my hair out sometimes. =) Great post!

  21. Great post, Faith. SO well said. I know some people get upset when bloggers portray their lives and relationships as perfect and happy all the time, but seriously... I think it's pretty innappropriate to post about it when you have serious disagreements with people in your life.

There have been a good handful of times that Matthew and I got in some pretty intense fights, because we're both very strong willed, but is that appropriate to blog about? Of course not.

Anyway. Like I said, awesome post. :)

  22. I totally feel you on this one!!! My hubs is incredible...heck...he loves me even when I'm a carb-depleted emotional b!tch...but there are days when I just want to smack the taste out of his mouth and/or he wants to snatch me bald-headed!!!

On those days, we look at each other and say, "I'm not really feelin' you right now so I need some space". Space is given...anger passes...marital bliss is restored!

Marriage is not always perfection...but it is always interesting ;)

    T.

  23. I'm dubious of couples that don't fight. It's just freaky and not right. :)
