Shopping In My Closet

A few weeks ago, I decided I needed a new summer dress. I went out and couldn't find anything I liked. When I got home I was annoyed so I decided to go through my closet to see if I could find anything to wear. Going through my closet I realized that I had so much stuff that I had to get rid of, donate or give to my little sister because unfortunately they don't fit me anymore. Damn ice cream.

I came across a dress I bought a couple of years ago and I was so happy to find it. The colors remind me of summer. It is light, figure flattering and best of all still fits!

{Dress: Forever 21 {old} - Platforms: Lulus.com {sold out} - Jean Jacket: Express {recent} - Bag: Coach {old}

I am so guilty of saying, "I don't have anything to wear." The reason is because all the stuff I'm not wearing is hiding all the great stuff I could be wearing.

I've decided that I need to do this a lot more often. Purge out my closet of shoes and clothes and find the gems that have been hiding.

Do you shop in your closet?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I’m loving that it is a short week.

I’m loving that hubby is home. It is crazy how much you worry about a person when they are not around. Now I feel like a ton of bricks have been removed from my shoulders.

I’m loving the colors on my nails right now.

I’m loving shopping in my closet. More on that later.

I’m loving drumstick ice cream cones. The bottom of the cone is the best!

I’m loving that my boss is going on vacation from Friday-Friday. No explanation there, haha.

I’m loving that on Friday night I have a sushi date with hubby. Unless of course he changes his mind and realizes that he hates sushi.

What are you loving?

he said, he didn't come upstairs because he didn't want to wake me.

how sweet, but he should have woke me.

i can't wait to go home, i've missed my man.

Saw my Bestie ♥ + OOTD

I was pleasantly surprised when I received a phone call from my BFF advising that she will be in town and if I was free to meet. Of course I was! I mean, with the whole no plans and all.

I hadn't seen her and her new son Carter in over 9 months. And her husband even longer than that. Excited is not even the word to describe it. Ecstatic? Yes. Ecstatic to see them!

When I last met Carter he was one month old and his eyes were closed most of the time, so I'm sure he had no memory of me.

Well, wouldn't you know he came right to me and let me hold him for a long time. Smiling at me and playing with me. Stacy and her husband Bill were surprised because he never does that with anyone he has just met. They say he cries and screams even with their mothers. And if he had just woke up even worse. Well, I was new and he had just woke up and he was perfectly fine with me holding and playing with me. I felt special.

The only thing that could have made this better was if I hadn't forgot to take pictures. I guess I was just too excited ecstatic that I actually forgot to take pictures.

I will fix that soon because he has his first birthday party in June and I will be sure to take a ridiculous amount of pictures.

Since I forgot to take pictures here is what I wore to see them yesterday:

Happy Memorial Day Weekend ♥

i wish you all a lovely Memorial Day weekend.

i have no plans. nada.

i think i should kinda feel lame but i don't.

there will just be extra cuddle time with Izabella and Fella.

and time to reflect on how much i want to choke Sean for being on vacation.

although, i admit, it will be sucky to come back to blogging after the weekend and have nothing fun to post.

and then i'll see all the fun things you guys did and be slightly jealous.

hmm, maybe i should try and make plans.

darn it.

Eleven

I was tagged by the ever gorgeous Katie @ Married...With a Pup. You know a person you "meet" in blogland and you just know you would be incredible friends with them in real life. She is one of those people.

OK, here are the 11 things you may not know about me:

*I’ve never been stung by a bee {I hope I didn’t just jinx myself}

*When I was younger the only thing we didn’t have to ask for was water. Due to this, I am addicted to drinking it. I am that person that says, water taste so good.

*Everyday I bring grapes or strawberries for a snack to work. Almost everyday I go back home with it.

*I decided one day that I wanted to eat gluten free. Then I saw all the foods that contained gluten and changed my mind. I love gluten.

*Sometimes I buy an outfit in secret, meaning I do not tell Sean. Every single time he knows and asks, “When did you get that?” I tried the whole, “Oh, this old thing. I’ve had it forever.” It doesn’t work. He knows EVERY single outfit I own. Stinks.

*I hate when Sean watches those ghost shows on television because I feel like the ghosts will come into our house through the television. Freaks me out.

*I am a great cook. Sean tells me so by licking his plate.

*I am obsessed with my sisters. The amount of phone calls, emails and texts they receive is ridiculous. And now that I have Facetime, it hasn’t gotten any better.

*I didn’t understand what the big deal about 24 was about. I mean, I hadn’t watched one episode so of course I didn’t. I watched one episode through Netflix and now I’m on Season 6.

*Am I the only one who doesn’t get the Bachelor/ette? I love trashy reality television as much as the next person but I just can’t get into it.

*When someone is talking and you can’t hear them, don’t nod. Because sometimes they may be asking you a question. Lesson learned. Just say, “can’t hear you!”

*** Now I'm going to ask my 11 tagged people these questions and answer them myself ***

1. If you had 10 minutes to be on a popular television show, which show would it be? No doubt I would choose Lost. I just loved that show. I also really enjoyed Prison Break's first few seasons so that one too, haha.

2. If you could have one superpower what would it be? I would love to be invisible. I just want to see what people do when they think no one is watching. I'm such a creeper.

3. What TV show are you embarrassed about watching? That would have to be Jersey Shore.

4. What is your favorite book? I really loved Hunger Games so that is my favorite book now.

5. What is the worst flavor of ice cream? Strawberry, yuck.

6. What is your favorite condiment? Ketchup.

7. What is the ideal comfort food? Pizza with tons of cheese.

8. What is the most important meal of the day? They say breakfast, I say dinner.

9. What is your dream job? Personal shopper.

10. What subject do you wish you had paid more attention to in school? Geography.

11. What musical instrument do you wish you could play? Piano. It just seems like a smart instrument to know how to play.

*** The 11 people tagged can either answer the 11 questions or create 11 themselves or not do it at all. ***

1. The Coffeehouse

2. you are my color

3. Work It Out, Gurl

4. The Rookie Wife

5. The Price Is Right

6. The Next Chapter

7. The Long Haul

8. Life...Full of Stories

9. Life is Good

10. Life as Bogdan

11. a crazy walk on the safe side

{Insert Clever Title Here}

Hubs leaves for Peru today. So we had a little date last night that way he can't forget me. It is raining all week so I took this chance to wear my Hunters. Go figure that hubs wore flip-flops.

{Top: H&M - Skirt & over-the-knee socks: Forever 21 - Earrings: Target - Boots: Hunters via Zappos.com}

I wish I could go. I can’t. Some work stuff and honestly it costs a lot of money. Money that I would rather spend for Vegas later on in the year.

He’s going for a co-worker’s wedding.

He is super excited about it. He said, “When am I ever going to get another chance to go to Peru?” I guess never.

You know how he likes to travel and all.

I’m so not excited about it.

International calls = Expensive.

This means, I won’t get any calls and I will actually have to check my Facebook for any messages from him.

Oh and don’t even bother trying to rob me.

I have a pit-bull.

...My Weekend...

This weekend was perfection. I wish all my weekends can consist of this. My family, husband, sunshine and BBQ food.

The weather was amazing. No rain at all which was welcomed due to the amount of rain we’ve been having the last few weeks. Izabella was loving our long walks. I tell you she hates the rain and refuses to potty to avoid it. It is not fun dragging a dog through the rain to poop, but I digress.

On Sunday was my sister’s graduation. It was the best and shortest graduation I have ever been to. I have been known to hate graduations but the guest speaker was Judge Judy and well she is just incredible. Also, my sister's graduation class was so large that instead of calling each graduate by name they called them in groups. And because they did it this way there was no embarrasing moment. You know the moment when a popular person's name is called and there are screams, whistles and cheers and then an unpopular person's name is called and all you hear are crickets. So awkward.

This graduation was really special too because it was our youngest sister graduating. I felt so proud of her and so did my family. I wonder how my parents feel having adults as children now. Must be strange.

After graduation we had a little BBQ for my sister at our house. Nothing big and it was just us. But that is all we needed. Lots of food, great company and the sun. What more do you need?

Here are some pictures:

{He had better things to do; like play with his car}

{If you stare really hard at the picture on the left you can see Judge Judy}

{When the ceremony ended gold confetti fell from the sky}

{Look at Sean being a creeper}

I also wanted to welcome my new nephew. My SIL gave birth to this cutie on 5/16/2012. Welcome Jayden Joel. I am so excited to meet you!

Poking A Little Fun

You know what I find hilarious about blogging.

Comments.

You know the comments you get when you make a blog post.

OK, it isn't the comments that are funny, but the comments that lets you know that the commenter did not read your blog post at all.

You know the ones where someone comments "Great pictures!" when there are no pictures in your post.

Or when someone skimmed through your post and didn't exactly catch what you were saying because they didn't read the whole post and then comments. And you're like, huh.

Or the ones where they say "Love your blog, new follower!" and your follower count did not go up.

Or when they just leave their blog information.

Those make me giggle. A lot.

Happy Monday. Hope you all had incredible weekends!

Taking the Plunge ... Or Whatever This Is

So I am going to do it.

I have gotten several requests to post the outfits I wear.

Really? Me? Yeah, I was surprised too.

I have gone back and forth on it because I am not one of those exciting fashion bloggers I follow or that most of you follow. I am just a regular gal, with a normal budget and no fancy camera to highlight my outfit. But after thinking hardcore about it and getting that final big push from my girlfriends Nini and Nancy, I am going to try and see how I like it. I enjoy fashion and I enjoy putting an outfit together so this should be fun…..

When it comes to my style, I am not exactly sure what my style is. Mostly I buy what I like. I know my body shape well and know right away what would look good on me and what wouldn't. I like getting great items on sale. But I also enjoy shopping at Forever 21. I try not to spend an extraordinary amount of money on clothes.

I think I should warn you that I will most likely be taking these pictures in my house where the lighting is horrible. I have no one who would actually enjoy taking pictures of me outside by red barns and gorgeous hills; unless of course, my sisters come for a visit. And even then it will be super amateur but don't tell them I said that.

I didn't even bother to ask Sean because I know what the answer would be. “I am not your personal photographer”. Maybe one day he will see the importance of pictures for a blogger, but until then, we will have to suffer with my pictures with the horrible lighting. I apologize first hand.

And with this new thing comes something I should have done a long time ago. I’ll post where I got each item! {Unless of course I have forgotten where I purchased something} I should have done that a long time ago because it would have avoided tons of the emails I have received over the years. But better late than never, right?

I know that you all are following me, not because I am a fashion queen, so I am curious to know what you think. Most of my blog material will stay the same because this blog is about Sean's and my life but nothing wrong with switching things up, right?

Right.

Oh, you didn't say right.

Awkward.

Afternoon Random Ramblings

When did the middle finger become an insult? I mean, it is just a finger. Why doesn’t anyone get mad at me when I give them the ring finger?

And when did a word become a curse word? It is just a word. Who decided that it was bad? If I said “Pork you” you wouldn’t get upset. Is there really such a thing as a bad word?

When did the expression “there’s an elephant in the room” become an expression? We all know there was no elephant in the room.

Oh, and who let the cat out of the bag. Why was the cat in the bag in the first place? Animal cruelty over there.

When was it decided that blonds were airheads? I would love to know the exact moment? Was there 10 blonds at one time who had a moment that wasn’t so smart and one brunette was there to correct them? Why was it decided that all blonds are airheads?

I also will never understand the saying, “Pigs must be flying.” Because that something you thought would never happen IS happening but pigs won’t ever fly.

So yea, that is where my head is at right now.

Do you ever wonder this stuff or is it just silly ole me?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I’m loving my husband. He is the most amazing man and I cannot believe how I struck gold when he decided he liked me. I just cannot imagine going through this life without him by my side.

I’m loving that I get to see my entire family this weekend! Party time. And I get to kiss my nephews cheeks until he cries for my sister. I can’t wait for that!

{awkward family photo}

I’m loving that my little sister is graduating from college this weekend. SO proud of her. I also cannot believe it! I feel like we just sent her off to college!

I’m loving this outfit. Everything about it!

I’m loving Target. I bought some amazing things from Target last weekend and I was so impressed with the selection. I can’t wait to wear them! I also get a discount because hubs works for Target so that makes me love them even more.

I’m loving Brueggers, clam chowder soup. I had it yesterday for lunch and have to have it again today. So, so good!

I’m loving all my blog friends. Seriously, I adore y’all and hope you’re having great weeks!
