Easter Weekend

The last few weekends have been rather busy so Sean and I completely welcomed a quiet weekend.
We had no plans and it felt so nice to just go with the flow.

On Friday, we ordered a movie and stayed in. I had my wine and he his beer.

Sean is in the market for a new vehicle so we test drove two vehicles Saturday morning.
Here’s a shot I took of the rode on our way to the first car dealership.

After test driving the cars, we went home, took the dogs out for a walk, relaxed and took naps!
I write that with an exclamation because naps are so good.

After our naps we went out to dinner and then the Sands Casino for a fun night out.

On Sunday we woke up for church (we tried another church this weekend and we don’t think it’s the right fit for us so the search continues, unfortunately) and when we got home the weather was so nice.

After church, we went to Home Depot to pick up mulch, gloves and other miscellaneous items to do some yard work in the front of the house. It is so crazy to me the differences in yard we have from our old house to this house. But yeah, it was a lot of work getting all those leaves raked up. I had to leave Sean to do a lot of the yard work that way I could do some chores around the house and then get dinner started. Sean did not get inside the house for another two hours. He worked hard and I feel so grateful that he spent so much time working on getting the front of the house looking pretty. He said to me, “ I know how much you like curb appeal”.

We are still not done so hopefully this nice weather becomes a trend and we’ll get to finish the front yard. As for the back yard, that can wait for now. especially since it feels like the backyard is just storage for dog poop.

I made lasagna and a caprese salad for our Easter dinner. I usually just make lasagna for Christmas but this time around we both were in the mood for lasagna. I am not exactly sure why lasagna has become an only holiday meal but it was delicious and we both had to have seconds. I saw Sean going for thirds but I pretended not to notice.

It was a really nice weekend and I felt the need to document it just like old times.
Granted, it was nothing overly special but for some reason it felt special to me.
I think the story of the resurrection always make things feel a little more special.

I hope you all had wonderful Easter weekends!
Have the best week!

P.S. Happy birthday Colleen! I can't wait to celebrate with you this weekend! ♥

  1. Your lasagna looks BOMB! Currently salivating. I've never made lasagna for fear of messing up but now I want to try it.

Happy Easter! Sometimes a quiet weekend is what we need...maybe I should have said that first :)

  2. Did he pick out a car ?! Or is he still weighing his options? Your Easter sounds fabulous (especially the nap!). I only make lasagna for holidays too. My mom requested it for Mother's Day. (yours looks delicious and that salad looks awesome too).

  4. Happy easter!
Curb appeal makes ME happy. I'll never forget when we were selling our old house and the realtor said the house had great curb appeal. I felt so validated!!!
Church hunting - I would love to hear your thoughts when you think you've found the right spot.

  9. Yum, I love lasagna! I remember when my grandmother would make it for holiday dinners. We've been trying to get started with some yard work, too. This is our first yard, so it's a totally new experience.
