Sometimes you just have to try a Mexican restaurant that you've heard only great things about. You talk about it for days because your search for the best Mexican in town is still in full force. You get dressed up even though it is raining cats and dogs outside because it's date night. You get there and you're disappointed when the hostess advises you that they'll not be able to seat you for another hour and a half because a party of 20 have a reservation. You fight the urge to tell the hostess that you'll sit on the floor.
You get in your car and drive to the nearest Mexican restaurant that you know of because you're still in that mood only to find that it is closed! Closed on a Saturday during dinnertime?!?! Again, you fight an urge but this time it's not to bang on the doors. Your more sane husband takes out his phone and googles to find another Mexican restaurant and you just cross your fingers that the food is good.
You get there and you're seated with complimentary salsa and chips. You get your order taken and then you wait and wait and wait for your food to arrive. It doesn't take you long to realize that the service here is sloooooow which should be no surprise due to the "Help Wanted" sign on the front door. You wait so long that your husband actually googles "what is the average wait time for your entrée to arrive?" When your food finally arrives it is flavorful and ridiculously good but your husband's taco does not arrive with his burrito. Sean not being one to make noise tells the waitress that he is fine with his burrito (which he did not let me photograph) just not to charge us for the taco on the bill.
We wait awhile to get our check and then we pick up Colleen's birthday gift which we'll give to her this weekend.
I cannot wait to see your pretty face Col!
Then we head to Sean's co-workers house party where I had a bit too much fun playing games, eating junk food and taking shots here and there because I'm the best for losing at games. I had so much fun but I'm thinking that is what happens when you hang out with actual people and not just fur babies ;).
Oh and guys, I have an interview today! I'll love some positive thoughts and prayers ♥.
And yeah, I completely agree. I should probably get to bed now.

ReplyDeleteWe went to a Mexican restaurant over the weekend too, thankfully it was stress free and delicious!!
Oh gosh I'm always the one doing all the shots as I'm useless at the games. Ha xo
Glad you were able to find a place to eat. When I am craving something, I really do not want to eat anything else cause I'll still be craving it afterwards.
ReplyDeleteSending positive vibes and prayers your way!
I felt the same way when I went to PAPADEAUX in Atlanta,GA a month ago. You have to go back to that place they told you about. It must be good if the wait is an hour. Great post.
ReplyDeleteI'll be thinking about you lady!! Sending the best wishes your way :)
ReplyDeleteThere's a little Italian joint around us that is the same way - GREAT food, but the service takes FOR-EV-ER. Ugh.

ReplyDeleteYour experience sounds just like mine last year in FL trying to locate a Mexican restaurant only to find when we got to the address on google, they had moved. When we got to the new listed address, it showed the business was shut down! SMH- memories. Yay for interview! Will pray for you. :-)
ReplyDeleteYum, this looks absolutely delish! and an interveiw! Woohoo!!! Good luck, girl! Keep us updated :)

ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteOhhh Mexican food is the BEST! That is something I miss about Texas, we had the best Mexican food there. You look so pretty and summery. I love it. Also, I hope your interview went well!!
ReplyDeleteOMG :O !
ReplyDeleteI love love love Mexican food. I think out of all my friends I am the one that loves it the most. I could eat it pretty much any day of the week. Problem is, I'm single and it feels awkward to go by myself, haha. Fortunately, my mom and sister have the same love for Mexican food as me so when I get a craving, I can call them and they'll go with me! :)
ReplyDeleteYour food there looks delicious, it just stinks that the service was so slow! And how disappointing that those 2 other places were busts. I hate it when there is a place I want to eat at so bad and the wait is an hour.... :(
Your date night reminds me of some I've had with my husband! When things go south, we do our best to make the most of it and enjoy our time anyways! Y'all are adorable!
ReplyDeletePS - Hope the job interview went well :)
