A little over one week ago Sean and I traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
We wanted a long weekend, simple getaway with no fuss. We preferred a relaxing weekend to soak in the sun, enjoy each other's company and escape from reality for a little while. We decided to take off Friday and Monday from work and did just that.
Our flight to Myrtle Beach was the shortest and easiest flight we've ever taken and I absolutely loved it and I now dread any flight that will take over an hour and a half. We left Friday morning and were in Myrtle Beach by 11am.
When you get pretty much the whole day on travel day we call that a win.
There's not much to recap from this trip because we went to the beach, had pool parties at the hotel, ate delicious foods and did some sight-seeing. If you want beach, dining out and shopping then Myrtle Beach is your place. We enjoyed ourselves but both agreed that it was no South Beach and South Beach is more our scene but we did have a great time.
Sean and I went out dancing one night and we had the best time. I seriously have this desire to just go out and dance to my heart's content because of our fun night out in Myrtle Beach. But of course, that is only fun once in a while because we're old.
We did do Broadway at the Beach (missed the nightly fireworks, bummer) during the day and at night and it's a hopping place. If you're ever in Myrtle Beach definitely head to Broadway at the Beach for a fun day/night.
Oh yes, we also went "fishing". I put the word fishing in quotations because truthfully the fish and the birds went fishing on Sean's bait (shrimp). Let's just say that fishing is not one of Sean's strong suits. It was hilarious (to me) to watch Sean's eyes widen with thoughts of catching a fish and when he would pull up the pole the fish and the bait were gone. Or when a bird will just sweep up from the sky and steal his bait. We didn't catch anything but I enjoyed it.
They also had a fair going on while we were there and if you know me you know that I've never met a fair I did not like. We strolled around, got some ice cream and some fair pizza. No rides because I go for the food if I'm to be honest.
I did not intend to catch this couple kissing but it did make this shot a little more interesting.
I love, love birds.
The picture to the right is when Sean realized that birds were stealing his bait.
Too bad I was not fast enough to get the snap of the bird stealing the shrimp.
We ate at a sports bar type restaurant called Drafts and I seriously had the most amazing lobster bisque I've ever had.
It was funny to the both of us that we were having 90 degree weather but still wanted soup & chili.
And this was an amazing lobster taco.
There was lobster, trust me. Just completely hidden by all the taco toppings.
I'm thinking he was doing the "Nae Nae".
All the kids were doing it and it was awesome to watch!
I'll stop here just because there's just too many pictures for one post.
My next post will be of pictures taken at Broadway at the Beach during the day & a few extras.
Have a great week!
