It was also kinda nice to see so many people who told me that they were guilty of the same things. And although I know that it happens, I think it was what I said out loud that made me realize that I am a work in progress.
But I’m ready to move on. I urge you, my dear blog friends, to go back to that time when you thought I was perfect and never said awful things to my husband.
Ahhh, it’s much nicer there, right?! The air even smells fresher. ;)
I’m so excited that it’s Friday. I feel like this week dragged on but then moved so quickly. Makes sense. I wish I had something exciting to share today but I don’t so I figured I could tell you about a trend that I’m really enjoying right now. Mind you I’m a little scared of it and refuse to go all out, just yet. What is this trend you ask? Mixing prints.
I bought a leopard print scarf on eBay for a good ole $3.50 (including shipping) with the intention of using it as the base to start mixing prints.
I still can’t do the actual top and bottom mixing of prints because I have been programmed to believe that mixing prints is a no-no. It doesn't match. Faith, you're not fooling anyone in thinking that it does. I mean, a leopard print top with floral pants. I’m not there yet. I probably won’t ever be there. But here’s what I’ve done so far.

Will you mix prints? Are you mixing prints?
And to all my fabulous blog friends, I wish you all an incredible weekend. xoxo.
Glad you are feeling better. Don't you dare beat yourself up honey! :) Leopard goes with everything too, by the way. Or at least that's what I tell myself. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you're not beating yourself up about this Faith because everything we all said about your relationship with Sean is so true! Your weekend sounds like it's set to be real fun so hopefully you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys are moving past it. LOVE that scarf. I've been searching for the right leopard print for a few weeks now. No luck yet!
ReplyDeleteno relationship is perfect and we all say/do things we wish we could take back. that's were forgiveness comes it and it is a wonderful thing! LOVE your scarf - i've recently realized that ebay is an amazing place to shop!
ReplyDeletegood that you're feeling better! :) i know what that is like. and i am with you on the whole mixing-prints thing! i've tried it on several times but i keep taking it off ad putting it back. but the leopard really works with these prints. well done!
ReplyDeleteim still working on the mixing prints. ive done it, i like to do floral with stripes, but i haven't done bottoms yet either.
ReplyDeletelove these mixes though, they look so good!
K
I'm the same way with prints... I've always been told that you wear one print, otherwise you don't match. :) I think you're doing great though!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad things are going better for ya!! :)
ReplyDeleteAs for print mixing... baby steps for this mamma. lol
Glad you are feeling better. Doesn't it almost make you feel worse when they just move on so fast and are over it? I'm a big matchy matchy person. I'm really trying to step out of my box on mixing prints. $3.50!! Dynamite deal.
ReplyDeletehaha, you are too cute, "the air even smells fresher" haha :). I'm glad you're feeling better, because the truth is that we're all human and we all make mistakes sometimes. And no, I'm not a pattern mixer. I love the look on others but gosh, I just haven't been able to shake having been ingrained with "different patterns don't match" from my childhood! You look adorable though {as always} and $3.50 for that scarf?? can't beat that!
ReplyDeleteLove the print mixing! I have a leopard scarf that I just love. And it is good to know we are all human. Your honesty is refreshing in this blog world. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of the mixing prints movement. I especially love animal prints and stripes or floral and stripes together. I'm pregnant though and being trendy feels impossible. *sigh* But come spring, I'll be back to my stylin' self! (o:
ReplyDeleteAnd glad ya'll moved past that night. We all say things that we can regret and a healthy marriage acknowledges it and then tries again. (o:
Glad you're feeling better Faith!
ReplyDeleteI haven't done much of mixing prints except for the one outfit I wore when it was warmer out. It was a polka dot skirt with a striped top. I think that's my favorite mixed print combo. ;)
I feel like you successfully rocked the mixtures of prints!! I totally shy away from it as well!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the leopard print!! Cute looks!

Glad you are feeling better. We've all been down that road and we pray to become good spouses and kudo to Sean for being understanding. Loved the jeans
ReplyDeleteI am glad you moved on. Oftentimes, we are the ones who can't get past things.
ReplyDeleteLove the print combo. I wish I knew how to mix and match like that.
See, I told you! :P ...and why shouldn't we mix our prints? It's totally fun and fab!!! I've been searching for a leopard scarf for the longest!
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful weekend pudding!
xx
Ummm pretty sure you've already mastered the print mixing, lady. LOVE the polka dots paired with leopard print! You have the best taste and cutest clothes!!
ReplyDeleteglad you're doing better today! hope you guys enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteGlad your feeling better : )
ReplyDeleteMixing prints...I can do it just a little but I'm the same way...'It doesn't match....Ehhhh'
Guys get over things so easy... I envy that characteristic. Hope you are all better... now those outfits... ADORBSSSSSS!
ReplyDeleteI could just imagine how sad you were in your last post. I am glad you are feeling better and Sean is over whatever it was. It takes a great person to know when they've been wrong and apologize.
ReplyDeleteI don't even wear scarves, maybe I should start, I am always cold.
"It doesn't match"...Haha! I come from the same school. I'm slowly getting there in the mixing of prints, and finding that (aside from fit/tailoring) there probably isn't a lot of actual "thought" that goes into it. It's more fun. Less serious.
ReplyDeleteThat scarf was a great buy! Nice pattern mix too. :)
Oh we all go through these moments (more often than I'd like to admit...especially with these dang pregnant hormones in my body!) but it's how we learn and our relationships grow! You definitely need to forgive yourself as much as you need forgiveness from your hubs, you know? So chin up pretty!!
ReplyDeleteDude. I almost bought that polka dot sweater tonight at Old Navy. I wish I had. Mixing prints is tricky but so cute when done right! And, I think you got it right! Ps. I'm glad you and Sean are good. Boys get over things mysteriously fast, unless they want to hold on to it for revenge lol.
ReplyDeleteadore the details. Fabulous post, love. If you get a sec, I'd love to hear your thoughts on my latest. xo

Just like you I am horribly afraid of mixing prints! I have no idea why! but I like what you did! you give me hope.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a ton of mixing of prints lately on the fashion blogs - and in the department store ads. You have done a good job at combining your prints - I really like you bottom out fit - the boots tie it all together :)
ReplyDeleteI love your outfits! I just can't seem to mix prints - I'm far too scared, but you've made me want to try. Love love love the stripes and leopard print together : )
