Tomorrow marks one year at my job and I honestly cannot believe how quickly time has passed. I can remember blogging (as I'm sure you can as well because that's all I talked about) about how much I hated unemployment when we relocated to PA and how it actually made the move to PA rather undesirable. This job came at the right time and I'm excited to report that I love what I do.
It took a while for me to warm up to the fact that I was living in PA but now I really feel like PA is my home. Now that we have purchased a home here, I have a job that I enjoy and have actually made new friends it has made PA a place that I'm finally OK with calling home.
It has been so nice to be able to do things with co-workers turned friends during our free time. I love connecting with people and I saw that it was one of the things I missed the most when we moved to PA. It was hard feeling like I was alone in a new place and I'm so grateful I no longer feel that way. It is so awesome to have girlfriends to go shopping with, eat out with, go dancing with, etc.
I guess, I should tell you that I'm going to be all over the place with this post.
Over the weekend, I made chocolate chip pancakes. It was actually the first time I had ever made pancakes because I had convinced myself that I only liked the way my mom made pancakes after I tried pancakes that were not made by her. They were disgusting so I went my whole life believing that pancakes just were not for me, unless they were made by my mom.
For some reason, I just had this weird desire to make pancakes. When Sean asked me why I was making pancakes, I responded, "I just want to be that person who makes pancakes on the weekends". Yeah, it was the best answer I could think of at the time. The pancakes came out so good and even Sean was impressed. They weren't the most attractive pancakes in the world but I figure with some practice I could become a professional pancake maker ;).
The weather is refusing to accept that it is Spring for more than a couple days at a time which is so frustrating especially when the winter we had was just plain awful. I just want the cold weather to be left behind already.
I will say that fresh flowers always make a home (and myself) feel so much more brighter. That even when outside seems a little bit gloomy the inside has a beauty that only flowers tend to bring.
This weekend, we are heading to Upstate NY to watch my mother in law ring the bell in the hospital.
The ringing of the bell represents her last chemo treatment and we are so excited and grateful to God that she has come to this point.
I may not blog again this week (yeah, me and my sporadic blogging) but I just hope that you all have wonderful weeks.
