Last Saturday, it got up to 79 degrees. It was the first really warm day of the year so Cinthia and I decided to take advantage of it. I still decided to wear a jacket because of nerves. It takes a while for me to really believe that it will be warm and stay warm. Trust issues it appears. And I think I have the right idea because this week is right back in the mid-50s, low 60s.
We first headed to Ross to see if we could find a few things for our homes. We both got pretty excited when we found things that we've been searching for, for a while. After shopping a bit, we decided to go downtown to eat at one of my favorite restaurants in the area, Tapas. Cinthia had never been and it seems that anytime I’m going to share a place with anyone I choose Tapas.
I love this restaurant and when it is warm it is the absolute best to enjoy your food outside and people watch. However, everyone had the same idea because when we got downtown and went into Tapas we were told that the wait to sit outside was 30-45 minutes. So we decided to see if there were any other restaurants that would strike our interest but no luck. Every restaurant we stopped at did not have available seating outside. We decided that since we really wanted to eat at Tapas that we would make a reservation, walk around downtown and see if we would get a call sooner than 30-45 minutes. We strolled into this cute book store that I love to visit and picked up a few chocolates. Within 20 minutes my phone was vibrating and it was the hostess telling us that our table was ready.
We were rather stoked and practically ran to the restaurant to ensure that our table was not taken. Prime real estate, ya know.
We both were in the mood for sangria since sangria screams warm weather to us. We decided to do a little sangria tasting of 6 different flavors and in the end we would decide on a glass of our favorite. Cinthia ended up choosing a pear one and me a blackberry one. Seriously, we would have done a glass of all 6 but we're responsible adults or something like that.
After that we went to HomeGoods and got lucky again. It was a good shopping day for our homes but probably not for our pockets.
After HomeGoods, we headed to Home Depot because Cinthia did not have nails to hammer in her walls. Um, what? Who doesn’t own nails but has a hammer? We fixed that.
We then took a 3 mile walk at the park and were going to end our day with some delicious Ritas but I had to rush home because I had a date with Sean. Ooops, I was a little late but he forgave me ;).
