We came back this afternoon after 4 incredible days in upstate New York with friends and family. We had such a great time and I'm excited to share our time with you all in future posts. First up, Christmas Day!
On Christmas Day, we made the 3.5 hour drive to my in-laws. We woke up rather early and for some reason I had a dream that I left the two lasagnas I made for Christmas dinner, the Oreo truffles and cake I made for dessert. Thankfully that dream did not come true and not one thing was left behind.
I hadn't really been feeling all "holiday" which had me sad since this is my favorite time of year but as soon as I walked through my in-laws doors, I was greeted with the biggest hug from my niece Nadiyah and was quickly transformed. It's amazing how a sweet hug from a child can lift your spirits and remind you what this season is truly about.
Christmas Day was perfect. More than I wanted or expected. The amount of food consumed on this trip was insane and I'm feeling it a lot but it was completely worth it. Every single, calorie ridden bite of food.
I feel so, so blessed to be a part of two amazing families. Here is way more (y'all know how I do by now) than a peek of our Christmas Day.
{We had way too much fun playing a game called Fibber. I probably played the game more than 50 times in our two day span with my in-laws. Nadiyah is obsessed!}
{He said he wanted a picture with me}
{So festive! I was so proud that I made this cake. It tasted amazing too!}
I hope that you all had an amazing time with your love ones as well! Happy (almost) New Year! ♥

Hugs from little ones are the best! Whose first Christmas ornament is that from 1988? Yours? Hubby's? I love childhood ornaments. I must remember to "borrow" some of mine and hubby's from our parents so I can put them on our tree next year.
