If you knew us back then you'll know that we had the party girls thing going on. It started on Wednesdays and basically ended Mondays. I'll admit that we couldn't always do it but we surely tried.
So it was downright hilarious that when we checked into The Benjamin on Friday around 5pm (with full intentions of doing something) we ended up talking and talking until 11:30pm. I'm not sure who finally realized that we missed our dinner plans but we had! We ended up getting food at a nearby food truck (thank God something was so close) and went back to the room to (you guessed it) talk. Not sure why we thought that we would go clubbing but we all agreed that "clubbing is so 2005".
OK, do you remember when I said that I could not believe how early Colleen gets up while she's on vacation? Well, this time it was all me. I mean, really? Y'all can't get up by 10am?! I did try, I honestly did. But finally around 10:15, I tiptoed to the bathroom and got ready thinking they'll be up by the time I got out. Boy was I wrong. Still sleeping. Charmion did open one eye to ask me what I was doing and I said, heading out. She laughed and said, you always need to be moving but I'm sure I'll see you in 10 minutes. She was wrong and I came back almost 2 hours later!
You are probably wondering if they were ready when I returned. The answer is no.
Stacy had not yet arrived so while I walked around the city I called her to let her know that she had to hurry her butt up and get here because the girls were still sleeping. Stacy has a newborn (Claire, 5 months) so she wanted to nurse and ensure that Claire take her nap prior to leaving Claire and Carter (2 years old) with her husband. She told me she would be there soon so I did what anyone in my position would do. I took pictures.
Have I ever told y'all about my obsession with taking pictures of the yellow cab?
I have so many pictures of the yellow cab stored in my computer.
Strange, right?
And then I headed back to our hotel (great hotel by the way!) in hopes that my girls would be ready.
But y'all already know.
Girls.
And because I take too many pictures, I think I should stop here and continue in a future post.

The title of this post is so funny. At least you got some good shots while they were sleeping!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the photos of the city--especially the lovely fountain!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I used to be a clubber too. Can't imagine it now! Lol
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up Faith and we are so similar. Take a million awesome pics just because, that's how I roll too :)
ReplyDeleteYou're too funny! Seems like it was a fun evening and you took some good pictures the following day. Although, I am surprised you didn't photograph the food truck food! I am sure it was yummy!
ReplyDeleteAh! You're making me want to take a trip to the city! Love the pics and glad you had a chance to meet up with your girlfriends!
ReplyDeleteI cannot get up early on vacation either. I don't blame them but it's funny you ended up being the early bird. Since you took so many, I'll just steal a few of your NYC pics and paste them into my posts! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I was reading this post, but I guess your friends needed their beauty sleep.
ReplyDeleteYou know, one of these days, I'm spending the weekend at the Waldorf Astoria... :)
Your party days sound so much like my girl friends and me. Now, we do just as you described. Except, most of us "sleep in" till 8…
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are gorgeous - as usual. :)
Beautiful Pictures; I love taking pictures and looking at them too.
